Poor Luvvy..Hope you get well soon!

I really thought this lingering flu/colds etc...would be so over by now..and maybe by the time this post goes live everyone will be sitting in the sunshine and feeling well!  I sure hope so!

This week for Digital Delights i am using a great image for you to use to make a "Get Well" Card...this one could be for any gender, I think.  This image is called "Poor Luvvy" and the sentiment is from the Feel Better sentiment set.

The die i used on this card is from Joy Crafts and is called Lacy Rectangle..and it embosses super and cuts out great! The buttons i used are vintage.

Relaxing in the tub

Okay, i 've been wanting to use this stamp since i purchased it recently and i thought perfect...it fits this TGF challenge to a "T"...

A bit about the bathtub...i love the look of a clawfoot bathtub, but i discovered once i got married that i didn't like taking baths.
I couldn't ever put my finger on why...and now i know..i got too cold..and i couldn't ever get the temp right...just couldn't relax...like everyone else seems to do...  Also, as i was growing up we only took baths, even though our 50's home had a shower head we were not allowed to use it...because the walls around the tub were plaster walls...it even had a chair rail in the tub.  Well, as you know if you take a shower and the walls are plaster...the walls will crumble and not only that it will leak to the finished basement...so it was definitely not allowed.  As i got older my dad built a shower/bath in the basement/laundry room...it was really nice.  And in the last 5 yrs he has tiled around the bathtub...and we can now use the shower when we visit..oh, yeah...they still live in the same house..it's almost 60 yrs old.

Here is my card...i paper pieced the tub...and i think it's a lovely tub...i'd actually like it..well to look at. LOL

I am also using the Tuesday Morning Sketch for this card...Still plenty of time to play along with this sketch challenge!

Looks like a Prima sort of day!

This is another project that i have created for 7 Kids College Fund and i decided to go with a company that is carried at 7 Kids called Prima..most of you might know this name because of their beautiful flowers, but i chose some other gorgeous things and actually no flowers!

What i haven't mentioned so far is the challenge this week at 7 Kids College Fund Challenge blog is to use Embellishments.

*Note...i will include my "how to" at the end of this post.

Here is my project featuring the Mixed Media Doll stamp from Prima called Doll with Ruffle dress as a bookmark for this Prima Fairy Rhymes journal:

Items from 7 Kids College Fund store:

Please take the time to visit the 7 Kids College Fund DT projects/cards they are beautiful!

How to make this bookmark:
I used the backing to the stamp, remember it is glossy so when coloring with copics you will need to seal it with the Glossy Accents.  I also used the backing from the journal to make the bookmark more stable.

I cut out the stamped image and then adhered tape to the back using my xyron.  Then i cut it out again. Before i adhere the journal backing to the image i place ribbon at the top to make it into a hanging bookmark. I added the red line tape to make it more secure.

Next, i stamped the dress sections onto the patterned paper and cut them out.  I have enough to make two dresses.   Here i am showing the Martha Stewart butterfly punches i used to make the butterfly embellishments.
To add the chain to the front of the journal i used the Big Bite Crop a dile...it punches through heavy cardboard easily.

Challenges:
Stampin' for the Weekend- Button it up
Crafty Catz- 3 of something (buttons), 2 of something (two butterfly clips) 1 of something (paper doll stamp)

Digital Delights, Sweet Treats Calorie Free!

Hi All!  What a great treat i have for you.  It looks Yummy, but it's totally calorie free!    I don't know if you've noticed the Digital Delights monthly cupcakes..so far there are 5 special cupcakes made and if you check the previous posts at their blog you can see what the Design team has done using them.  I hope you are collecting the cupcakes like i am???

Go here to see all of the cupcakes at Digital Delights!

The cupcake for May is "school" themed.  I thought i'd go with that idea and make some teacher gifts.  It is a perfect time to make these as school is coming to a close.

Here is my project using the May Cupcake image:

Here is what i did:
I purchased a paper mache cupcake box...it actually opens up and you can fill it with whatever..treats or paperclips.  The other item is a notepad purchased in the $1 bin at Michaels..i just recovered the cover treating it like it was a card.  I also added the little paper clip bookmark at the top, so it can be used when writing in the journal.  As you can see the image is on the journal and i fussy cut it out.  Then for the paper mache cupcake, i enlarged the May cupcake image and cropped just the worm and apple to put on the cupcake.  I broke some yellow pencils in half and sharpened them and poked them into the top..added some apple buttons.  Before i added the embellishments, i added pleated paper to the base and ribbon and hot glued it in place..then i hot glued the white flowers on to look like the frosting.

Thanks for taking a peek, now i hope you will go out and create something too using this image or any of the cupcake images...please make sure you share them with us..we'd love to see what you are doing!!!

This week i get to use a gift from a friend on my card.  My friend is Jessi and she crocheted the scallops on the paper circle i am using on my card this week for Anyone for Anya and the challenge Sketch!

I decided to go with a baby theme this week, mainly because of the color i chose for the crocheted circle.  This is a stamp from TGF, i believe it is retired.
If you want to order any of these crocheted circles, my friend, Jessi sells them and you can find the info here.

How i made the cupcake box:
To make the cupcake, i die cut the smallest flower from the Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers die set out of Birthday Tissue paper.  I hole punched the centers and added a brad.  I hot glued each of the flowers to the top of the Paper Mache Cupcake box.  Next i wrapped the Washi Tape around the bottom of the cupcake.  I then colored my Dandelion stamped images and i basically cut them out. I also made the reverse image for the back of the bear and cupcake so that the cupcake can be viewed from any angle.  Once the images were cut out i ran one of them through the Xyron.  I then put a toothpick in the center of the bear and placed the "unglued" bear on top..then i fussy cut the bear fur.  I poked a hole in the top of the cupcake box and peeled back the bear legs so that the bear would "sit" on the cupcake (front and back).  I added the cupcake to the paw and then placed the unglued cupcake on the "back" side.   I placed the two sentiment hearts on the cupcake frosting one in the front and one in the "back".  I added Stickles to the frosting on the tiny cupcakes and to the center of the sentiment hearts.
Next i used MFT bow die and placed that on the "side" of the cupcake.

 Copics used:
 Bear- E41, 42, 43
 cheeks/ears- R20. 22
 tiny cupcake- E43, R81, 85
 sentiment heart- R81, 83

How i made the White shrink charms/necklace:
I stamped the images (using Stazon black ink) onto the white shrink film (making sure to stamp on the "rough" side of the film, if it doesn't appear rough, than sand it slightly.
Next i use colored pencils to color my stamped images.  I cut out the images and hole punched them so that i could add a jump ring to make them a charm.  Next i used my heat gun and tweezers to hold the images and followed the instructions on the package..(basically, i just held the images until they shrunk to about half the size..they will curl up and start to lay flat again.)  I added the jump rings and then attached them to the ball an chain necklace.
