Superman's Nurse card

Okay so another Nurse Day card, but this could be used for Mother's Day or Sister/brother..at any rate..it's super cute and it's from Dearie Dolls Digi stamps.

Again the info on the Nurse's Day event:

National Nurses Day, also known as National RN Recognition Day, is always celebrated on May 6th and opens National Nurses Week.  National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, the birth date of Florence Nightingale.

This is the card i made with the Nurse's Day theme in mind:

The lovely sketch i used is from Sketches by Carly..i rotated the sketch on it's side (mainly because the cloud paper scrap i had only fit that way. :)

Nurse Nightingale

I am continuing with making Nurse Day cards in recognition of the event coming up next week.  Here is some info in case you didn't see it in an earlier post.

National Nurses Day, also known as National RN Recognition Day, is always celebrated on May 6th and opens National Nurses Week.  National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, the birth date of Florence Nightingale.

I made this card using the Catch the Bug Sketch and a cute Bugaboo image:

Here is the sketch that i used from Catch the Bug Challenge:

You are beautiful

Just Magnolia's challenge this week is Buttons and Bows.  Perfect!  I wanted to finish the inside of my jewelry box that i've been altering and this encouraged me to finish it!

I am using and image from the Fairytale collection, that looks like Snow White, but wanted her to "match" with the inside of the jewelry box which is pink.  I figure Snow White is a princess and really had more outfits than the one we see in the movie. :)

Here is my project based on the challenge:

It was a bit tricky making the inside because the lid had to close and so there couldn't be thickness around the outside of the mirror, which is where i needed to decorate.
This is what the inside of the box looked like before i altered it:

Here is the outside of the box from another challenge and a link to the tutorial:

This won't hurt a bit- Nurse's Day

I had no idea that Nurse's Day was a calendar event and i was enlightened to that fact.  Here is some info on the the event.

National Nurses Day, also known as National RN Recognition Day, is always celebrated on May 6th and opens National Nurses Week.  National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, the birth date of Florence Nightingale.

So to recognize this event i have created a card using a Mo's Digital Pencil image:

I also embellished this card using hospital gauze.

Here is the sketch i used from Mojo Monday Sketch challenge (I've included what the card looks like before i add the image..cause i think the sketches are pretty)

Baby this is for you

I am a sucker for baby images/stamps...they are so so sweet and this one from Pollycraft is no exception.  It doesn't hurt that two of my relatives are expecting their first baby either.

It's interesting too, because even though one niece is from my side of the family and the other niece is from my husband's side, but both have decided not to learn what the gender is until the baby is born.  Now for me that isn't a big "deal" because all 3 of mine were surprises too...but the difference is that now the retail stores cater to a girl baby or a boy baby..not too much is out there for a "no-gender" baby.  Try and find a baby card that isn't pink or blue..it's hard.

So with all that thought process i chose to make a "colorful" non-gender baby card.  Yes, it has pink but there is blue, orange, green and yellow.  It could also work for a baby shower card because the pink background could be for the mother-to-be, right?

Here is my card:

I spend all my time, thinking of you.

The Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenge blog has a challenge going on that has an inspiration photo and a Get Well/Best Wishes theme.    I went for a project instead of a card just because of the clock photo...and the clock is for good wishes..but i am not putting a sentiment on the clock, but it would have a small tag/card attached with the sentiment/wishes.

Here is the inspirational photo..(I'd love one of these clocks)

Here is my project based on the theme:

I did a step by step on how i made this clock..i altered a clock from a charity shop:
The clock came a with a hummingbird on the face, i used my lace die to cover it up and i added some flowers.

Next i added a Doo Hickey die using white corrugated cardboard and a Memory Box flourish die, along with some tulle, more flowers and purple buds.

For Baby Anna

One of my dearest friends is having a baby girl in May and i thought this would be a great card to make.  I've been loving this image from Di's digi downloads and now i have a chance to use it.

At Card Crafter's Circle our theme is "Pearls and Lace" and that seemed fitting for a baby girl too.

Our sponsor this week is another fabulous returning sponsor DI'S DIGI DOWNLOADS! Our blog owner, Pauline writes, "Di is so talented with the pen, her designs are gorgeous, and there are so many for all occasions!  Our randomly drawn challenge winner will receive a $10 credit at the shop, which equals about 4 images, or they can choose to use it as a discount of a larger order! Woohoo!"

Princess Jewelry box

Oh this was so fun..creating something new out of something old.  I found this jewelry box at a charity shop and altered it using paper and embellishments and Magnolia's Tilda.

This jewelry box was made for Magnolia Down Under Challenge..which was making anything but a card..alter something.

I did a step by step on how i altered this box..but first here is the box:

The sketch i used for the top is from Cardibilities:

What i did:
I used a jewelry box from a charity shop and covered it with paper and stripe tape.  Then i embellished it using gathered tulle, pom-pom trim, twine and a button.  Then i followed the sketch and colored Tilda..added some flowers, gems and glitter leaves.  I intend to decorate the inside for another challenge..so stay tuned... :)

A little birdie told me..Cat's head wobbles..check it out..

This card is for two different challenges.

The first challenge is for TGF The Greeting Farm Challenge.  The challenge is "No Coloring".  I noticed the DT did stamping of a different color or paper piecing..i've opted for the paper piecing.

Here is my card..oh and FYI..check out my tiny video below to see how the head wobbles.

This is the sketch i used from The Sweet Stop SSS101..it's their 3rd Birthday...YAY!

Here is my teeny tiny video..so you can see how the head wobbles

Thinking of You with all my Heart

This card was inspired by 2 challenges.

The first challenge at Magnolia Stamp Lovers is to use stitching real or faux.  I just got this awesome Spellbinders set (I think it is Mixed Media)  that had a rectangle with zig zag stitching on the border..how awesome is that..it also came with two other things i used on this card, the tree branch and the paper heart.

Here is my card:

The second challenge is a Sketch at Simon Says Stamp, i love this sketch!

You are such a Joy!

For this card i am combining three challenges..it is always interesting how my card transforms based on the challenges and paper i use.

So for the Just Magnolia challenge i am to use Soft Spring Shades and that's where the paper comes into play..i went with a light pink pastel background paper and everything else played off of that.

Here is my card:

The sketch i used is from Creative Craft Challenges2:

The other challenge was a private Yahoo Scrapfriendly Group challenge and we needed to use items that started with the letters G-I-R-L.
G is for Girl
I is for Indigo
R is for Ripple embossing paper
L is for Letter (antique)
