It's hard to say Good Bye!

Sometimes, I know straight away when i see a sketch and a challenge what i'd like to do.  I'm not sure how it will all come together until i pick my paper though.  I had another paper picked before i used this green leafy background print, i had this yellow and tan hounds-tooth pattern perfect for a mystery "theme", but not what i wanted when it was altogether.  I am happy that i didn't color my image before i made the card, seeing as i like this combination better.

This image is one of my favorites at Tiddly Inks called Wryn "Super Spy"...but then i must have a lot of favorites because i have a nice stash of Tiddly Ink images.
The leaf die is a mistletoe leaf die from Doo Hickeys.  It is three clusters put together.

Sketch is from Twist of Faith Challenges:

Vintage Two Birds Anniversary or Wedding Card

I have the privilege of designing cards for Sami's Stamps and i just love her images.  This card was created using her image called Two Birds found here or here. (if you don't see it request it from Sami)

I think i just realized, that her images allow me to do "pretty" cards..normally (if you look at my blog) i do "cute" and i love cute..i think i can combine my style with cute and pretty for the first time.

I made this card with some vintage buttons that i had purchased over 15 yrs ago at an antique mall.  I also found the cotton lace at a charity shop.  The heart die is a Nellie Snellen multi frame heart die and the small buckle is a Spellbinders die, the background eyelet square is from Lifestyle Crafts frame 8.

Here is my card:
I added a white feather to the bottom left along with some small flowers from Wild Orchid.  The pearls are from Michaels and the embossing in the background is an Anna Griffin embossing folder.

Christmas Card

A pretty simple title, but a fun card to make.  This is an easel card.. i am showing it opened and closed.  If you stopped in to see this post before 3pm on Thursday, you saw a different picture than you might have seen in your email post (if you follow via email), and i am not sure what blogger does when a picture gets upsdated?  I decided to add a bit more embellishments to the card.  Anyway here is the end result...

I am using a retired Greeting Farm stamp that i love!  This was so fun paper piecing this stamp!

For a very special friend!

I knew someone's birthday was coming up and i wanted to make it special.  I am a fan of altering things and when i came across this box at a charity shop, i thought, wow..what can i do with that?  So when the time came to make this special gift, i pulled out this easel box.

Now i just wish i could figure out how to duplicate this box because i like this concept a lot.

I treated the cover of this box just like it was a card...it actually is a picture frame that i covered up.
From the markings on the bottom it is from Hallmark Card Co.  Measures about 5.5".

I have used a sweet stamp from  Lili of the Valley called Milly Flower Power.   The dies i've used are Joy Craft Butterfly border, Lifestyle crafts Lacey frame 8 and the pop up butterflies are from Spellbinders.
I have another friend that makes these awesome paper flowers and i purchased these from her as the money goes back into helping to rehabilitate wildlife in MA.  I also have used an embossing dotted folder.

Copics used:

It's time to play with some Bubbles....

You know you love to play with bubbles...i think it's fun as an adult to blow bubbles..i just have the excuse of having grandkids to play with them too. :0)

So guess what...you know i've already mentioned that i am on Sami Stamps DT, well, this is my first card for the blog and we are introducing a new release called, "Bubble Bath Fairies".

Sami is so smart..who'd have thought of Bubble Bath Fairies?  She has such a wonderful imagination and you can tell by what she creates.

This week i am using "My Bubble Time" Fairy:

In case you are curious as to what i did to achieve this card, i printed the image on music sheet paper and then printed it again a second time and paper pieced it on top of the music sheet bubble.  Then i colored the image with Copics (pastel rainbow colors) and painted the whole image with Extreme Glitter Paint.  I've used the Memory Box die- Loopy Rings # 98370  and a lacy border die from Doo Hickey.

Here is the Bubble Bath Fairies release from Sami Stamps...i betcha can't just pick one...

I have also used a sketch from Crafting Life's Pieces monthly challenge:

Be-Witchingly, Boo- tee -Ful

How could i resist?  The Greeting Farm makes a post with a brand new witch digi and i fell for it...and you can see why..i am not kidding i purchased it yesterday and made the card today!

I know some people don't like Halloween and the celebration, i grew up in the 60's where it wasn't about "evil" but about dressing up and a way to visit our neighbors that i never got to see.  i know, that now, some people have ruined what was nothing but a way to visit our neighbors and for kids to dress-up into something bad.  I choose to look at the good and not let the bad win out.

So with that thought i've created a sweet good witch card:
I used a Martha Steward spiderweb border punch.  I also made a tiny slit in her hat and gathered up some black tulle and slid it through.  One of the new techinques i did was to use my Envelope Punch to make the the notches in the strip, i cut out my matted black paper and punched it and remembered what i punched it at and then cut out the black stripe and punched the notch out so that it could line up..in this case i punched at 4.5 (black mat) and then the stripe at 4 3/8.  So more than one way to use that tool..  I think it would make a fun tie shape too..

I used this sketch from The Greeting Farm for this challenge:

Copics used:
skin- YR000, 00, R20
hair- E97, 99
dress/hat- W3, 5, 7
hat band/scarf- YG00, 01, 03

Top Tip Tuesday- Get in Shape..anything but a rectangle (*tip -when making a shaped card, cut out a card base by placing the "shaped die" hanging over the fold..it will make your card base smaller than the shape..now cut out the full shape from another piece of paper and place it on top of the cardbase with the overhang beyond the fold..ta da..a "hinged" card without bending the front.

Hip to be square- Baby style

i am using a onesie die from The Greeting Farm and i am loving this die..it's so cute!  I said to my husband, what do you think..and he looked at me..like i don't get the question?  I was a bit frustrated and started to walk away..he said, wait a minute..do you want me to see if i can find 3 squares..i said, no, do you like the card..and then the comment was..well it's minimalist...so no help from him at all...arghhh!

I made two, why you ask?  Well, as always, i picked the lighter brown color but wanted to use the light brown chevron..and it just go lost..so i cut out yet another onesie and was much happier, but i also know myself well enough that if i didn't use the light brown onesie now it wouldn't get used and it would sit in a baggie...for that some day that never comes...

Take two, sort of...

When you don't feel like coloring...why not paper piece?

Many times, i've heard my friends say they don't like to color...or that they don't want to spend the money for the markers..one solution is to paper piece.

I am making this card for Sami Stamps and i found that this image called Umbrella Splash is perfect for paper piecing with a minimum amount of coloring..just the skin and puddle..however the puddle could be pieced as well.

I am also trying to show that this image isn't just for "spring" but can be used anytime..especially with this sentiment and if you wanted it to be seasonal... you could change out the colors :0)
I am using a sketch from Everybody Art Challenges:
