Having fun with My Besties Fluffy img030 and Flower Soft!

I don't know are they still making the product, "Flower Soft"?  I was given some as a present a few years back and never got around to using it until this week.

When i saw this cute My Besties Fluffy image 030, i knew i had to pull out the "Flower Soft" and make a fuzzy robe.

I wasn't sure how i wanted to attach the Flower Soft, but decided on using ModPodge Dimensional Magic.  At first i tried a section and didn't color under it at all, i found i liked the edges colored better.  I wanted to make sure that once the Flower Soft was added that i'd still be able to see the definition and that it didn't look like a big blob.  So outlining the areas and doing "sections" at a time seemed to work.

Ella Bella Buttons and Bows CD printables turned 3D!

One of my projects for the month of February was to create some cards using Sherri' Baldy's My Besties Ella Bella Buttons and Bows CD

There are a lot of great images, printables, paper and more on this CD!  These CD's are only for PC formats, not MAC computers.

I have created two cards using two of the printables on this CD.
For this first card I have used Ella Bella and turned her into a 3D image
I have also used some paper from the CD.  The background blue is from the CD. The blue and pink checked is from Sherri Baldy's Designer paper.

Dies used:
Fence- La La Land
Butterflies & foliage- Noor/Joy Craft

The second card I created is also a printable I have turned into a 3D image. The background paper and the teapot circles are also Sherri Baldy's designer paper.

Dies used:
small doily- Memory Box (retired)
Large background doily- Noor/Joy Crafts

Bible Journalling illustrating , clear stamps, watercolor pencils, tutorial

I have been doing some "studying" Bible Journalling on Youtube after several of my friends have commented on how they like illustrating in their Bibles after they have read a passage of scripture.  The illustrations they draw or create inspires them and helps them "remember" that passage that meant something to them.

I have several scriptures i like and wanted to be able to find them easily.  I felt adding my "illustrations" would help me find them.  So this Bible is a "special" Bible that is like a "bookmark" Bible.

After watching several Youtube videos, i thought i'd try this technique first.  I would love to direct you to a great channel with ALOT of inspiration and ideas.
This Bible Journalist channel's name is Rebekah R Jones and you can click here to see ALL of her videos.

I have chosen 1 Corinthians 13 as one of my favorite chapters.

Here is my 1st Bible Journal page and below is a "tutorial" on how i created my first page!
Here is what i did:
First i used some Clear Gesso.. make sure it dries transparent..  I let that dry overnight.  Make sure you back your page with something.  I used a large zip-lock type bag.
You can see the "wrinkle" affect this gesso creates.  This gives the ink something to "adhere" to and protects the page.

2. My Besties clear stamps have a clear acrylic sheet that has the image printed on it.  I place that on the Bible page so that i can get an idea of where i want to stamp my image and how it will look.
3. Next i used Ranger Archival Black Ink to stamp my image.  (Use the ink that will work for your coloring medium).  This is the 1st generation stamped image.
3. Now i a started coloring using my Prima Watercolor pencils.  I then lightly used my paint brush and water.  I had no "bleeding" through because i used the clear Gesso.

4.  I decided to try one more techique and used a Sherri Baldy die, "LOVE" and made a cardboard stencil.  I traced around the inside of the stencil with my watercolor pencils.  Then i took the stencil off and added the heart so i could get that "curly que" inside of the heart shape.  Then i just highlighted the love a bit more around the outside and then i used water light lightly to blend the colors.  (see picture at the top for the finished look)
Like i said this was the first time i tried this technique and i plan to try to color a bit better the next time.  i did color the black of the eyes to darken them and next time i won't use as much pressure on the pencil because when i wet it, i found i had too much.

To find this clear acrylic stamp called "Here's My Heart" please click here.

I will be sharing a few more pages as i create them.  I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!

You Warm my heart, my friend!

Let's see,  in 2011 i started coloring with Copics and creating cards using digital images.  I had made cards before but not Copic colored images.  When i started coloring in 2011 not many were making cards with Copics.. not like today.  So i began my trek online trying to find digital images to color, at first i went to a site that gave legitimate links to sites offering freebies (this was before Pinterest), and i came across a site that offered their "free" digis if you'd but your first one and make a card and share it.  That site was called "Designed 2 Delight".  I am not sure but i think their name has changed 2 more times??

Well without a doubt, this card is created for the same artist and her shop has a name change.  I thought this would be fun to create a card for the same artist that "started" me entering challenges.  Now the challenge is called I {heart} Card sketch.

Here is my card using the cute image "of the month" called "Snowman and Cocoa"

I love images with Sailor type clothing, they are so fun to color

I don't know what it is about Sailor images, but i have always loved the outfits.  I know as a kid my favorite hat was a sailor hat.  I love children's clothing that has the sailor collar.  One of my oldest daughters favorite outfits as a teen was her sailor outfit too.  So i guess good memories!

This image was created this last week by Sherri Baldy. Her new "collection" of Fluffy girls are cute!  I think this one is my favorite so far!  This is image037 available here.

Challenges-

Strum along with me and sing "Happy Birthday"

This will be a "fun" post...well for me it is. :)  Sherri Baldy has created a new My Besties image 023 with her little girl strumming the guitar.   Isn't she so cute?

I am sharing 3 same/different cards and i have a story...

I am going to share my Copic colored My Besties image 023 first even though it was the image i colored of the 3 cards.
Here is the deal, i wanted to color an image using graytone paper, charcoal and a chalk pencil.  Why?  I saw this beautiful image colored up on Pinterest of Disney's Rapunzel and i wanted to see if i could create something like it.

I think it turned out, but in the end my favorite is the Copic colored image.

I have used the same sketch for "each" card.  I only created 2 cards, and 2 images even though there are 3 cards being shown.

First i made the pink card base, but the charcoal image looked a bit dirty against the pretty pink.  Then i made a graytone card base and that created a better backdrop for the charcoal image.

So that left me with the pink cardbase i created with first and decided just to color the image again with Copics.. :)

The first card i created that no long exists with the image and card base together:

Take two of 3 cards:

Took me a lot longer than i thought it would to create one card, but in the end i have 2 cards.  I used a really pretty sketch too.
