Sami Stamps and more "We Love Dad" cards!

Every two weeks i look forward to the new release that  Sami Stamps  creates.  This time the release is called "We Love Dad" and i've made 2 more cards using the Plain Tie Set!

The challenge at Sami's Stamps is Anything Goes with a Sami Stamp.
Please come and play, we'd love to see what you can create.  Don't forget, Sami always offers a freebie so anyone can play along!  To go to the Sami Stamps challenge click here.

I love this sweet whimsical image called Plain Tie Se.  These two cards were made from an inspirational idea from Pinterest.  The first one is pretty much the same as the idea on Pinterest using Sami Stamps tie instead, however, the second card w/the bowtie was my take using the bow tie instead of a tie.  Both cards hold gift cards.  These cards can be used for graduation, birthday or Father's Day.

I totally paper pieced each tie.  I made the pockets from squares and just snipped the bottom corners.  Then i used my sewing machine to stitch across the top and then i set it on the first layer of paper and stitched around the pocket for the "pocket" opening.  The collar was a square cut in half on the diagonal. The button front was just a strip that i added buttons to.  Really a fun an easy card!

Here is the fun new release:

I love this sweet whimsical image called Plain Tie Set and i've made two fun cards that your kids would love to make or something quick for that special Dad!

I totally paper pieced each tie.  I found a free moustache on line that i used and paper pieced that too.  The hello stamp is stamped in white ink and wet embossed with white ink. The "handsome" is some glitter letter stickers i had in my stash.

My Besties UK Guest Designing part 2, These boots were made for splashing!

As a My Besties challenge blog designer and a designer on the My Besties 3D Deco (decoupage) blog,  i was asked to make a card for the My Besties UK blog.  I am so honored to be able to share on another My Besties challenge blog!

Thank you Carol and the Design Team on the My Besties UK Challenge Blog for having me guest design!

A special feature on My Besties UK, is that they offer a discounted My Besties image for you to use, and if you do you will get a free one in return.

I am sharing two cards with My Besties UK.  This is a second one i made using 3 different My Besties images to make one "scene" image.   Not only did i hand color the images i also cut them out to make them into a 3D decoupage image(s).  Click here for the link to the My Besties Etsy Store.
This card was pure joy to make because i had the encouragement to create something unique!  I started out with Sherri Baldy's My Besties on the My Besties 3D Deco team doing 3D decoupage and i love it to pieces (no pun intended).  When you purchase the decoupage sheets from Sherri Baldy's Etsy store, they come pre-colored..all you do is cut out the layers and put foam tape between the layers and have a beautiful 3D piece of art.  Now, if you want to be even more creative, you can color up any of Sherri Baldy's My Besties and layer them.  That is what i did for this card!

More details, click to see details close up:

Dies used on this card:
Marianne designs/ blue doily

My Besties UK challenge Guest Designing and Rain Day Go Away

As a My Besties challenge blog designer i was asked to make a card for the My Besties UK blog.  I am so honored to be able to share on another My Besties challenge blog!

Carol is an absolutely wonderful host/co-ordinator for the blog. I love that when you enter the challenge you can see a thumbnail of your card/project and everyone else's as well, so you can admire all of the talent that is showcased there.  And that is just the entries, the Design Team always has awesome cards to inspire you!

One other special feature on My Besties UK, is that they offer a discounted My Besties image for you to use, and if you do you will get a free one in return.

I am sharing two cards with My Besties UK.  The first one i made using a portion of the sweet image called Rain Day Go Away.  Click here to see this image!
For this card i've used a Marianne Designs lace border and an Eyelet circle.  The background embossing is a folder from Stampin Up.

The image is colored using Copics listed below:

Sherri Baldy's My Besties 3D decoupage Bendi/Bendy Card featuring Suzie Sunflower!

This week at  My Besties 3-D Deco Challenge blog we have another great challenge for you!

The challenge is to use Ribbon and Pearls on your 3-D My Besties card/project.

To participate in our challenges go here:

All we ask is that your My-Bestie Image has 3 or more layers, making it raised up from the surface of your Card/Project and to follow the challenge theme.

For this project i am using the 3D sheet with the image i am calling Suzie Sunflower found at Sherri Baldy's My Besties store here.  I have used a fancy fold called Bendi/Bendy card.  Instructions for this card can be found here.

Some more info about Sherri Baldy's My Besties 3-D decoupage colored sheets available for you to use:
These sheets are fun and easy to use!  They are all pre-colored for you, all you do is print out your sheets, cut out the pieces you wish to use and layer them with foam tape, foam dots/squares or Silicone glue.

Some more views- Left side view, right-top view

What the card looks like when the tabs on the flaps are taken out of the slots.

Dies i used:
The floral border die is from Poppy Stamps. The gate is from Marianne Designs. The banner is a punch from Fiskars. I also used an acrylic strip to support the back of the 3D image because the layers cause weight and the neck is delicate.

Digital Delights and Twins!

This digital image at Digital Delights is extra special because i am "changing" this digi a bit by adding another baby for the stork to carry so that the card can be used for "twins".  Just seems like there are a lot more twins being born and i thought this would be a way to show people that they can "add" babies as needed to a card. :)

Here is the card using the image called, "Little Dumpling and Stork" i made for the Digital Delights Blog:

Normally if you look at the image there is one baby, what i did was print off another baby and color it and tucked it under the original one and added the tie behind the original one at the top.

Dies used on this card are:
Memory Box/clouds hanging die

Copics used:
baby- YR000, 00, E02
hair- E25
blanket- Y11, 15, YR23
stork- W1, 3, CB

Here is my card, please come and join us at Tuesday Morning Sketches for this challenge:

I'll be honest without doing some research online, i am not sure which die i used as the "lattice".  The embossing folder is a Spellbinders embossing folder in the background..the dotted one beneath the image is Cuttlebug.

Do you think this is ground hogs day?

Yes, when i showed this card to my husband he said..looks like "Ground Hogs Day"..and i said, what??? That's a bee and a butterfly..and he pointed out that i repeated the image 3 times.. so there you go..whenever you repeat anything on your cards, now you will know..someone might say... "Ground Hogs Day"  :)

I've decided to use a My Besties image called Belinda Beehive for my card.  I so wanted to use a diecut for the stamp edges, but i didn't have the right size..So guess what i did?  Hand punched..if you look close..well, maybe not that close..you'll be able to see how randomly they are punched. LOL.

I made my own sentiment using a font and colored it in.  I also used some Noor/Craft dies to make the butterflies.  I used Tim Holtz stamps to randomly stamp on the images and the card.

Copics used:
skin- YR000, 00, E02
beehive hat- R81, 83, 85,  W1, 3, 5
bow- E53, 55, 57

So even though my intention is to enter this card in other fun challenges, i made this one with the purple theme and this special image.

Let's see, i used Noor/Joy Craft butterflies..and yes, they are dark purple.. even though they look black.  The oval is from Lifestyle crafts.

My Besties Fairy Mobile just for fun!

I really like this image just released at My Besties image 338..to the point that i pushed everything else aside to make this mobile.  This mobile is plan B, because plan A didn't work out.

Here is my project:

The "base" of my mobile is a birdcage from Michael's..and it was $3 but with my 40% off coupon..it was closer to $1.60. The beads were all half off at Michaels and i had the flowers in my stash but ended up using a whole package.  Oh, and the clip on butterflies were at Michael's as well 60% off..so i guess for the most part a Michael's project!

Copics used:

My Besties 3D decoupage challenge KISS (Keep it Simple Sweetie)

This week at My Besties 3-D Deco Challenge blog we have another great challenge for you!

The theme is to (KISS) Keep it Simple, Sweetie on your 3-D My Besties card/project.  That means to make your card simple..we realize that 3D is more work, but in itself it is a simple look with a big impact.

To participate in our challenge go here:

For this project i am using a brand new 3D sheet that i am calling "Stylish Rosie" and she is found at the My Besties store here.  All of the 3D sheets are pre-colored.

To find the Decoupage sheets in the My Besties Etsy store click here.

The only thing i added to my 3D image was the tulle for her hat..and what i did was gather up some tulle (i stitched mine, but a staple would do) and then i added it before the last layer of flowers were added to my 3D image.

Another added technique is i dry-embossed the last hat layers using Stampin Up lattice embossing folder.

My Besties Aussie Challenge Dreaming with Making Faces image

What an absolute privilege to be asked to guest design at My Besties Aussie Challenge Blog!

If you have a bit of time you should really check out the Design Team's creations every two weeks they showcase fabulous inspirations! Here is the link to the challenge and their work!

I need to share with you something else that impacts me about working with ladies/men that make cards around the world.. we might not "speak" the same first language but our cards speak volumes that we all understand.   And that is we like to create and share our passion.  I love the encouragement i get from the My Besties community..they have been so kind.

This card was created for the My Besties Aussie team challenge theme that is to use 2 Laces and flowers.  Easy Peasy?
This image is so adorable and is Making Faces #237 found here.  She looks like she is dreaming or "thinking of you".  I have used one set of dies on this card from Cheery Lynn..it's the set of doily hearts.
