If not at first you succeed try, try again! Blurred Background - So Happy!

Yesterday, i tried to create a card for a challenge and silly ole me..i thought it was "Anything could be blurred".  It was a coloring challenge so i needed to color the blurred part for the challenge.

Ah, ha!  Today i gave it another try.. couldn't really find the tutorial i wanted so i really went wild with this idea.

So first, i thought i would try the technique that Tim Holtz shows when he uses his ink..i know that his is water based but i thought i could still "swirl" the ink and get the look i wanted.  LOL... wrong..i got blots and they weren't really blurred they just bled.   Oh yeah, and i was using light weight water color paper and my mat that you can "put anything on"  (except not drops of copic ink which is what i did..and now i have some permanent looking blots.)

So, like i said i swirled my paper, not too happy with that look so i got out some markers and drew lines.. still no good.  So i wadded it up.. and stuck it in a small amount of rubbing alcohol.  Still nothing.  It gets better, i then squirted dishsoap on it and wadded it all up.  My paper was still holding together.   I brought it to the ironing board and ironed it.  At this point the paper could be pulled apart in two layers.  I took the layer i liked best and brought it back to the work table. Next???  i got out my fingernail polish remover and started to apply that with cotton swabs.. and now i started to like it.  Then i added circles around my blots and added more fingernail polish remover.. and then small dots all over and more fingernail polish.. and finally, i liked it.  Whew!!

Here is my finished card..
The circles look like balloons and confetti so i thought it would be perfect to add the word "Happy".
