Arghh, there's a Pirate at the Olympics...her name is Tilda. LOL Actually, i am making a card for three challenges and one at Midweek Magnolia happens to be Olympic themed...and i didn't really feel like using the Edwin image i had..so i tried to be a little bit more creative...and used the Pirate Tilda with the Jolly Roger from the Fairytale collection.
Here is my card and then i will explain:
Okay so first you need to know what the image looked like originally so that you will know what i did...
First, I made a tracing/pattern of the flag and cut it out of plain paper to cover up the skull and bones. Then i colored in the image. I decided to make the treasure map that is rolled up in Tilda's hand a rose...so i colored it and then snipped the tiny bit behind her hand away and added two leaves. I used the instructions by Zoe in the Summer Magnolia Ink to color the dress and give some fabric folds..i made the bodice blue and added a tiny star button and a glitter gem. To get the Olympic circles on the flag, i punched a tiny hole in my paper and then came back with the next size up and punched another hole. For the tag, i just used the die that came with the tag to make the circles. To make the gold and red flower i used a spiral die (which i am not fond of).
This is the sketch i used from The Sweetest Thing-Sweet Sunday #164
