Indie Art Cartridge "Angel Wings"
One of the cartridges I received for free last month for my gypsy was the Indie Art cartridge. i am finding that there are several things I can do w/that cartridge that isn't what it was intended for. Here is my first idea. i am making "Angel Wings" for my doll's Christmas costume. I am making a quick video, but it won't be done until i make the angel outfit for my doll. So if you want to make these wings for any reason here is what i did.
1. Selected two wings (they were both going in the same direction, so i flipped one)
2. I enlarged each wing to 5.79 width and 8.47 height on the gypsy
3. I rotated a wing so that it would overlap in the middle and at the point at the bottom
4. Grouped/Welded them together
5. Rotated the unit i just made so that i could get two sets of these wings on one 12 x 12 paper and cut them out of glitter paper (not the kind of glitter paper that sheds (it really ruins the mats i think)
6. I then duplicated (copy/pasted) one unit (wings) to the next layer/page (layer 2)
7. I then had to ungroup them so i could hide all of the inside pieces to make a solid piece. ( there is a solid layer (blackout image), and you could use them instead and "look though" your page to make sure it lines up right, or you can copy/paste like i did.) At any rate, you will need to weld these also (although as a duplicate they should still be welded, but they DO need to be re-grouped)
8. i cut this solid image out of vellum using the vellum settings.
9. I taped/glued the vellum between the glitter images. i used my xyron to glue these, but of course, i ran out of "tape" so i had to hand tape the rest.
10. They are ready for my doll's costume.

My parents 60th Anniversary Wedding Album
My parents have been married for 60 yrs on October 28, 2010. To honor their anniversary i am making a wedding album w/reprints of their wedding. I plan to add past anniversary pictures to this album. To make this album i used the Cricut Gypsy and the Lite Botanicals cartridge and Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. For the vertical mat i used a rectangle 4.25 x 6.25 height and welded the shadow image 4.62 x 2.09 height to the rectangle. The layer was cut out at 4.62 x 2.09 height. For the horizontal mat i used a rectangle 6.25 x 4.25 height and welded the shadow image 6.50 x 2.95 height to the rectangle. The layer was cut at 6.50 x 2.95 height. The bird journal spot was done the same way, i welded the bird shadow image 1.84 x 1.20 height to a rectangle 1.46 x 2.30 height. The total length for the bird journal spot was 1.84 x 3.01 height.

Cricut Gypsy Graphically Speaking LO for 10/10/10
Using the Cricut/Gypsy i selected a square from Plantin Schoolbook, (8.71 x 7.48) I welded two number #10's to the side (word layer) (2.15 x 1.47) and one #10 to the corner (jumbled layer) (1.57 x 1.39) . I then added the border "10" strip (main base image) (8.95 2.29) to the bottom of the square and grouped all of the images together and then welded them using those function keys on the gypsy. For those of you that don't have a Gypsy, you can still cut out these pieces separately and attach them as shown.

This is the sixth tag for the album. I will add tags as i make them for the album and then i will make the album.
What i do is weld a tag to a image using the gypsy...each tag is different for
each image. The image height for Wisemen #1 is 2.47 height and the tag is 2.55 x 3.39
and welded together it is 2.55 x 5.01. All of the layers for Wisemen #1 are cut
out at 2.47 height.
This is the seventh tag for the album. I will add tags as i make them for the album and then i will make the album.
What i do is weld a tag to a image using the gypsy...each tag is different for
each image. The image height for Wisemen #2 is 2.24 height and the tag is 3.13 x 2.50
and welded together it is 4.57 x 2.50. All of the layers for Wisemen #2 are cut
out at 2.24 height. The most challenging part are any small parts and in this image the stripes in the turban were the "hardest" ones to cut and be large enough to use. One solution would be to use a glaze marker to fill in the lines.
This is the eighth tag for the album. It is the last tag for the album and then i will make the album.
What i do is weld a tag to a image using the gypsy...each tag is different for
each image. The image height for Wisemen #3 is 2.31 height and the tag is 2.65 x 2.72
and welded together it is 4.45 x 2.72. All of the layers for Wisemen #3 are cut
out at 2.31 height. The most challenging part is the tiny circle for the treasure box, i used a gem instead of cutting it out.
