Anya strolls in glittery style!

This week at Anyone for Anya..our challenge is to use lots of glitter..super fun, huh?  I have used Anya Strolls and the funny thing is i had no idea that my team mate Blankina also used the same stamp...i love the variety we both have used with this stamp.

Here is my card...oh and one more thing...i am a fan of a TGF design team member named, Rosie and i love how she adds a large bow to her cards, so i thought i'd give it try this time...

I have also used a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches:

A 1st year Baby gift for my friend Aga

To celebrate my friend, Aga's baby girl's first birthday, i made an explosion box for her using the pictures she took monthly using a sticker..i thought the idea of the photos were darling they are "inside the box and not so visible in the photos below".

the ovals framing the baby in the box are from Spellbinders called Floral ovals S4-356 (i used the purple one)

the square lace die on top of the box is Lifestyle crafts Nesting Square Doily Dies DC0256

nesting doily squares
the paper lace die is from Cheery Lynn dies and is one of my favorites (as you know Jenee got me hooked on dies by sharing all of her dies from her DT) - Anastasia Border- B136

the little pink border is a punch i got for Christmas from a friend.  It is an EK Success punch.

The corner die is an actual "photo corner" die that i cut apart because it was the perfect size.
It too was from Lifestyle Crafts and was in a Corner It Kit #DG0290

Modern Day Jane Austen

I know, i could be "off" on this call...but i am thinking Jane Austen, in this day and age would be quite confident and stylish...maybe she was in her era too?  I know that in her era to be a writer and a woman would ruin her reputation and if one was a writer they had to do it secretly.   So the look of this image to me, is one of confidence and maybe a bit of a "secret" behind those glasses?

This week i am making this card for Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge  DT and i  am using a new image from CC Designs...cool huh?
Here is the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches this week:

Ahoy! It's a sketch!

This stamp set from The Greeting Farm has been out for a bit.  I just bought it though...and decided to use it for the sketch challenge and some summer challenges.  I didn't go with the white outfit because i felt like coloring....and white is fun for a quick card.   I am not quite sure if Oliver would like being in yellow, but i am thinking he is more "vintage" looking today. LOL

Here is my card:
A couple special dies that i used, the star which is super fun to use on cards right now or any time you need to change out a doily.  This star is from Nellie Snellen and is called Multi frame Stars MFD050.  What is cool about this die is you can have just the star dots cut out for stitching or a back ground and then it has the plain star, which when put with the dots makes what i did in this card.  There are three sizes plus a cute little button star in this set.  Then i used an anchor from Marianne Dies #LR0232...i LOVE this die and how it embosses...it's not just for beach scenes as the anchor can be used for any "anchor" type sentiment.  This die comes with a starfish as well, and i've used it many times on my card..it looks awesome cut out with sparkle paper.  Anyway, if you want a great deal on the dies and the best shipping you need to visit Dutch Paper Crafts...right now the store is in transition, to make it even better...there is a new email for sales..so go and check out the blog for that info.

Happy Father's Day

This month has been really tough, my dad was suppose to get an aorta surgery done on June 6th, but when he went in for his pre-op they found 3 blocked arteries so his aorta surgery has been delayed.  First, they did a cath looking to see what they could do and found he needed a double bypass and within days they gave him one...that happened on June 3rd and as i write this it is June 6th.  My dad is still recovering in the hospital...and they've moved him out of ICU two nights ago..so that's good news, but his stomach is not happy and so he isn't eating.   I am hoping by the time this is posted he feels a whole lot better.  Bad news is that they will have to cut him open again next month to fix his aorta.  He is 82 and has always been strong...i hope he can endure this one more time.  He is a wonderful dad!

I've made this card for Tuesday Morning Sketches we also have a twist this week...it is a masculine card/project:

Just Plain Wrong...chicken joke?

Originally i was scheduled to be a Guest Designer at 7 Kids College Fund, however, i was asked to do that for May instead.  I had made a card knowing that this challenge (and this is a tough challenge) was coming up.  At first i made this card using the chicken in the card below, but my daughter did not like it at all...so i came up with this card instead...is it just plain wrong???  maybe not, but i might not have been as popular with the other one i came up with.

Here is my chicken card...and maybe my joke is so bad...that it's Just plain wrong..not funny...

A little bit of green Burlap and Marianne Design Circle Die CR1239

I told you this release from Dutch Paper Crafts was going to be fun..this is the Marianne Design CR1239  Circle version...and you can just see how much fun these dies are.

I will remind you in each post how you can really save a lot of money if you purchase these dies from Dutch Paper Crafts..go check out the blog site and see what i mean!  To buy the bundle of all 4 dies in this release you will always get a good price!!!

What i did for this card..was to cut through the front of the card using a circle die and then i cut out the lace window using both the lace circle die and the regular circle die together..then i used some twine similar to a yarn and knotted it to keep the strings together at 4 spots around the circle.  I used Marianne creatables LR0246 for the bird house, bird and the ivy leaves.  In this case i cut the leaves out 4 times to make the circle.   I used some Wild Orchid flowers and made my bow.   I also used the large Cuttlebug Honeycomb embossing folder.  By using white core paper i could make the embossed design stand out and match the lacy circle.

Video showing the four cards i made for this Dutch Paper Crafts Release

Challenges:
A and T- Dies and Punches
Country View Challenges- Dies

A bit Shabby Chic and a Marianne Rectangle die CR1242

This is the third shape in this release at Dutch Paper Crafts...and you can see now how great these are for cards...but wait a minute..you can make picture mats too...you would just place this die in the middle of a 5 x 7 paper  and you'd have an awesome mat for a frame...i will include that below this card so you can see how great this die is!

Some additional dies for this card is Marianne Creatables LR0246 (i used the ivy only), MS butterfly punch, MS leaf punch.   I also used a Die-namics die for the flowers called Loopy Bloom.

side view of the card:

This is what you can do with the die...make a mat for a frame...i used 140lb Watercolor paper.
