Jingle all the way..

It really isn't that far away...Christmas that is..and if i want to get a head start on making cards, i need to get started, huh?  I just counted the weeks before i'd send out cards..and it's roughly 15 weeks..i guess i need to double up and do two a week!

So i decided for this card, i would go Christmas..and of course it didn't hurt that i already had the image colored from last year.

Here is my card using a vintage/retired Elf from The Greeting Farm:
Yes, of course i used some dies for this card.  The largest die is from Memory Box and is the Frostyville Wreath #98418, inside of the wreath i added a Spellbinders die called Moroccan Accents S5064.  Then a fun new little die is the Jolly jingle bells #98651..it comes with 5 bells to fit on top of a Jingle bell border...but i used it as a single bell by it self.  The leaves are a Martha Stewart punch and the berries are a larger hand punch.

Close up of the jingle bell die embellishment:

Don't forget to ask to see if we still have the above dies in stock at Dutch Paper Crafts!

I didn't save the Copic info for this coloring..i am guessing this is what i used:

Preschool Journal Cover for my Granddaughter

I was really inspired this weekend viewing some lovely things on line and decided to create this journal cover for my Granddaughter.  She is starting to create things and i thought this would be perfect for her pages.

What i did was cover a journal using many dies and two images from Tiddly Inks.  The one image is the schoolhouse (for only $1 at the shop) and a sweet image called Donna's Adventures.  This image was the reason i found Tiddly Inks years ago.  I've colored her up to look like my grand daughter.

Here are a list of dies i used for this journal:
from Joy Crafts- Butterfly border- 6002/0251, Lacey Square frame- 6002/0147, Lace edge- 6002/0149.  From Marianne Designs Craftables-clock- CR1234; Doohickey die -Butterfly Dreams Magnolia collection/Scallop Tag.

Don't forget to ask to see if we still have the above dies in stock at Dutch Paper Crafts!

How what fun to use this image again..i love the hats!
This week at Anyone for Anya, we are to use LACE, so fun..i used it for my background paper, and a piece of cotton trim lace that i colored with copics to match the hat!

Here is my card this week for the DT:
I added a bit of glitter blue tulle to the hat.  I made a slit using an artist knife and gathered a bit of tulle and slid it under the brim.  I colored the cotton trim/lace the same color as the hat using my copic markers.

I've also used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches..that expires today, but you still have time to use this sketch!

A New Dress

Sometimes, when things get you down, a distraction away from the world can make you feel good.  It's not long lasting, unless you put your hope in the Lord.    This new dress stands for that type of hope..something new, something you've been waiting for to change you.    I don't share my faith often in my blog...this time it seemed right based on all that is going on in the world and in my dear friends lives.

Here is my card symbolizing "hope":
This is the second time i am entering a card in the Marianne Design Challenge blog, the first time i didn't understand that the image MUST be one of their stamps.  This time i hope i got it right?   I love their dies and was fortunate to be directed to a free image at their site.

For this card i am using 2 Marianne dies.  One is called Oval Passe Part out #CR1241 and the other one is a floral flourish LR0249.  I made this card into a window card:

Happy Birthday to you with a 3-d daisy!

For this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches, we have a super sketch and a great sponsor DRS Stamps!

Here is my card, please come and join us at Tuesday Morning Sketches for this challenge:

The medium daisy stamp was stamped on three different pattern paper and hand cut (paper pieced)..i cut off some of the petals so the first layer would show through and then the petals from the second layer to achieve a layered look.  I did cut a piece of the stamped Birthday sheet music stamped image to use.  The original stamp is quite large and perfect for background stamping!

Have a Magical Time!

I've had this pad of paper and matching stickers for quite some time.  You know the stuff you think is so pretty that you don't use. :o)  The clock paper was a scrap..which helped with the title.

Well, the time has come to use these butterfly/flower stickers and the paper to match!

Here is my card using Fairy Chloe on this card, i did cut her wings off and added a butterfly sticker behind her.
I used a really fun sketch from Flutter By Wednesday:

Copics used:

Curious horsefly baby card

Are you curious?  Well, i've been a fan of A Day for Daisies for some time and this year her sister, Sami started her own challenge blog called Sami Stamps.  Her images are so unique and sweet.  I love to create and her images are what get my mind thinking creatively.  I mean who would have thought of a sweet horsefly?

I decided to do a baby card using the Curious Horsefly digi, that's the name of image and you can find her images on Etsy or request them from her on her blog here.   She, like her sister, always has freebies for you to use too!

Here's my card:
I turned this card into a window card and i used Marianne Designs using Passe Partout Circle CR1239, i made a frame, then i used the outside circle from this die set and made the matted frame.  On the side i used a Memory Box die called Honey Blossom Sprig #98333 (i cut sections to fit and i cut it out of white and two other blues).  For the circle sentiment i used the smallest circle from Spellbinders Classic circles, but for the scalloped layer i used a buckle from Spellbinders Shapabilities  Ribbon Buckles S4-362 which looked like a daisy.  Both stamps are from the dollar bin at Michaels.   The star charms are from Jo-anns.

Here is the inside of the card so you can see the whole image..i also used a Cuttlebug embossing folder called
Copics used:
R20, 22, B000, 00, 02, 04, E71, 77, 29, YG01, 13

Take it Easy

This week at Anyone for Anya we have a sketch...and i used a TGF stamp from the set Sitting Wonderful.

Very ironic, as i write this i am in the hospital in my dad's room after he had a serious surgery.  They bypassed a section of his aorta.  He was in ICU until today.  So by the time this goes live, my dad should be home and should be "Taking it Easy"...but seriously, knowing my dad he will push that to it's limit...and won't be taking it easy.

This is my card i created using the Anyone for Anya sketch:

For this card, i used the basic Spellbinder dies, oval and scalloped oval.
I didn't use any copics on this, it was totally paper pieced..and this was super easy to make!

Here is the sketch for Anyone for Anya this week:

Autumn Sweetness

This is a really fun challenge for me, 'cause i love to be creative.   The challenge i am talking about is at The Greeting Farm Challenge Blog.  You are suppose to take two images and mix them up.  Now for me the challenge isn't any fun unless i can SEE the two images that are used before they get mixed up.  So at the end of my post i will put two watermarked images of the  stamps i used.

Some of you diehard Greeting Farm fans, should try to figure it out before you see the answer below... I'm just saying..

I changed out three things..the head is from Glisten Bean and the body and the head band is from Lovey Dovey Amelia.

I used some fun dies on this card as well.
Doo Hickey Doily flowers, Memory Box vine called Savannah Border and another Memory box die calle Woven circle.

Copics used:
skin- YR000, 00, R20, 22
hair- E50, 53, 55, 57

Snap, i forgot your birthday

I know i've used this sentiment before on another card...and the image was a Greeting Farm stamp, however this time i am using a different image and sketch.   LOL

This week at Anyone for Anya we have a FUN challenge!  The challenge is "Picture this! camera theme.

This is my take on the challenge this week using Surprise Amelia from The Greeting Farm:

Can i just say, i love this paper from Crate Paper..the background behind the stamp is perfect for so many things..i love that blurry paper!   To make my "polariod" snapshot frame, i used an actual 4 x 6 photo paper, you know that bundle that comes with your printer's ink?  This one was an off size, i just used a Spellbinders square for inside and trimmed around it.  I've also used Tim Holtz's plastic film strip that comes in that cute container!

Have an Amazing Birthday!

I wanted to do a test, it's a personal test.. i wanted to see if this Tiddly Inks Image is popular?  Don't you think she is just so cute...I am talking about Minnie...that's her name, she's got these adorable glasses and such a happy face!  I've paired her with Melissa Birthday Bear also from Tiddly Inks!

You can find Minnie here.
You can find Melissa Birthday bear here.

I've made a twisted Easel card, super easy..just score the top of a card in a diagonal.  (Fold at the top, diagonal from top right down to left bottom)
If you take a look at the original images you will see that Minnie is holding a flower, i just cut the flower off, so it looks like she is putting her arm around Birthday bear.  What i did to birthday bear is flip him horizontally...super easy with digis.. Then i enlarged the image to make bigger balloons, cropped them and printed them off and put them behind Birthday bears balloons.  This makes such a sweet combination.   To make the balloons look transparent, i just pretended that i could see the background balloons in each grouping and colored them in like the line was there..using the lightest color.  There are videos on you tube talking about coloring balloons.

Now for the die info...this super circle die has gotten a bad rap...it doesn't seem to be so popular, but it's fantastic.  It is a Marianne Creatables LR0152 Circlets Circle die (an older one).  I would suggest that you check out Dutch Paper Crafts for this die because they really do have the best prices/shipping. (you will have to email "sales" to find out if it is in stock)
