It is just about May, so let's do some Flower Cards

I don't know about all of you, but we've had our fair share of April Showers..so bring on the May Flowers, please.

This week at The Greeting Farm for the Farm Fresh Friday challenge...the theme is Flowers.  Seeing as i already used Hatter Bean for a Mother's Day/Spring card, i thought i'd try another image and found Good Luck Anya..and transformed her into a Mother's Day/ Spring Card.  What do you think?

I also decided to do a laying down view so you could see her hat veil.

All i did was make a tiny slit under her hat rim/flower and gathered up some veil and taped it down in the back.   I changed the shamrocks to flowers and added a glitter center gem.

I used some really cool dies that are available at Dutch Paper Crafters..just email the owner and she will send you a quote for the dies.  She is super fast and shipping is actual. The die behind Anya is a "fan" from Marianne Crafts, the corner dies are from Cheery Lynn dies and the oval behind Anya is from Spellbinders. Flourish is from Doo Hickey.

This week at Tuesday Morning Sketches we have a super easy and fun sketch along with an AWESOME sponsor..  Saturated Canary.

Here is my card done up with Up, Up Away image from Saturated Canary:
For my card i flipped the sketch to make the image work.  I also fussy cut the image out and because i wasn't about to cut out each balloon string i substituted baker's twine..and i like the color it added to the card. Sentiment is from Magnolia Stamps.

I am using Marianne Creatables LR0230, LR0231, LR0232
I absolutely love this card because my daughter colored Tilda for me.  We had a "spring vacation" and spent some time making cards together.  This was the 4th image she has colored (ever) using Copic markers..eh..the catch?  She is an art student..  I love her coloring so much i asked her to make another card for me..as this one is for the DPC DT.   This one little card has a ton of dies..that until you "see" the list you wouldn't believe it. :)  In addition to the "release" i used Marianne Creatables LR0242 (my absolutely favorite die), Doo Hickeys die called "Tea Labels die".  Magnolia stamp is called Tilda with Anchor.  (we actually cut the anchor off the stamped image and added the Marianne's anchor die.)

Alice Bean and recycling!

I have two more stamps to use from the  Greeting Farm Limited Edition Wonderland set..i bet you thought that i'd use Alice first..cause she is awfully cute, but nope..i waited until now.

The Challenge at Anyone for Anya is to Recycle this week.
What i recycled was a cardboard, i stripped on side of corrugated cardboard so the ridges would show and then i ran it through my die cutting machine to get a circle. I  also used a page from an Alice in Wonderland book i found at a charity shop..in fact, the background is a page AND the poofy flower is part of a page.  Those loopy bow dies are awesome!
I've also used a flower from the Michael's dollar bin, and a Tim Holtz metal charm.

hair- Y11, YR21

Happy Birthday!

Actually, it's my birthday this week and i didn't even realize when i picked this image for this week that it was going to be my birthday..seeing as we pick way in advance..I knew the date i picked this  was  for the 4th week in April, but it didn't dawn on me.  It now seems like i was thinking of my birthday..but honestly i wasn't..

For my birthday this week we are going to go to Cincinnati to see my daughter-in-law graduate from Pharmacy School.   My parents are coming down from MI, so that is a present for me.

The "Wedding Season" isn't far away

This week at Tuesday Morning Sketches we have a New shaped card..it's a rectangle but it's a bit longer...you don't have to "do" that shape, well, cause i didn't but I would like to challenge YOU to try this longer rectangle!  I know that i would have liked my card better if i had made the longer rectangle!

So i also thought, making a wedding card using this sketch would be cool as June tends to be the "Wedding month".  I also LOVE this stamp from Stamping Bella!  It is called "Uptown couple get married":

I used a couple of dies for this challenge, the main one is LifeStyle Nesting Frame #4. The next die is a Spellbinders basic lattice die that once i cut it out, i put it back in and cut an oval out (the oval i used was from Nellie Snellen's called Decorative Oval frame.)

Here is the sketch this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches and this one is made by Debbie Foster from our DT:

Altering and recycling a Chalkboard frame

I found this chalkboard frame at a charity shop for $1.  Originally the chalkboard had just the tropical scene on it..it is like a sticker scene.

The first thing i did was to crochet packing twine to make a border.  Then i die cut some shells and greenery. Added a few bud stems and die cut the "sand" for under Amelia's feet.  I made my bow and added a charm.  I have totally "altered" this chalkboard and plan to hang it up at the lake.

Queen of Hearts LTD edition

This is an image that was introduced this month at The Greeting Farm..in fact there are 4 Alice in Wonderland Limited Edition stamps..i've already made one card using the Hatter Bean this image is called "Queen Bean".  Once these sell out they will no longer be made...that is my understanding from the Greeting Farm site..and from other sites like the 7 Kids College Fund where i purchased this stamp.

Here is my card celebrating the Alice in Wonderland theme:
I have used printable cards from online and cut them for the background then i found some paper in my stash that looks like the backs of old playing cards.  I added a Tim Holtz heart charm and used my favorite hand dyed ribbon from Pink Petal Ribbon on Etsy.

My mom's birthday card

This week at Tuesday Morning Sketches..we have such a pretty sketch..i've made it several times..well two times because i like it so well!  Our sponsor is "There She Goes"!

This week i used a stamp that has a great memory for me.  I used to have a candy store (short period of time) above a Cross Stitch Market..remember when those were really popular in the late 80's?  Well, there was this pamphlet i just loved and had purchased with the "someday" intention of stitching it up...well that day didn't come and in the moving i did, i got rid of it.  Well, the silly part of me, tracked it down and purchased it again..(Yeah, it will probably not get stitched again...)  I will share a picture of the pamphlet below and you will see how similar this stamp is from Penny Black.

Here is my card with the stamp called "Best Friends" from Penny Black:
