Precious Steampunk goes on a Beach Holiday card

My vision for this card is for Precious to go on beach holiday.  She's all packed and ready to go. The two images (Precious and Luggage) are from Tiddly Inks.  The Tiddly Inks challenge is to use a ticket or a tag on my card and the Birthday Sundaes challenge is to make a card based on a photo that has these colors that i've used and it has an umbrella which Precious is holding...and she is going to the beach. :)  I've also used a vintage button.

You Make me Smile, Photo card

The name of this digital image from Stretch 'N" Bubbles is "Nothing but time" dragon.

What i did:
I colored and cut out the dragon.  Added the background mats and then cut out a photo of one of my grandsons.  I punched out some stars, and a border strip. Printed off the sentiment, "You make me smile" and finished off my card.

Oh Boy & Frame - The Letter "B"

The new Freebie for this week Friday at Digi My World is the letter "B".  Another Super Cute image to use.  I am using the clip art instead of the digital image for all of the alphabet letters coming out to make them look like "flash cards" on projects.  Last week i made a frame for my grandson, but this week i made another one because his twin brother's name starts with a "B".  I also made a card using the letter "B" clip art.

What i did:
To see the instructions for the frame check out last weeks post here.  For the card, i made a 3" envelope from the Calligraphy cartridge..and punched out a star.  The font used was from Elmo's party cartridge.

Photo inspiration challenge at Greeting Farm

This card was made for a Photo inspiration challenge at the Greeting Farm.  Below is the "photo inspiration" and my card is based on that.  The wheels on my card actually turn!

What i did:
I used Baby Steps cart for the crib and added the Old West cart's wheels to make it look like the photo.  The banner is from April Showers cart and the blocks are from New Arrival.  I popped out the crib so is bowing out from the card, added brads to the wheels and they actually turn. I also bent the baby to sit on the crib. I did have to hand cut the white rim on the blocks from the diecut, because they were a stencil cut and not cut all the way through.  I had a piece of old scarf from my altered projects and knotted it and attached it.  The border punch at the bottom is a MS bunch and i just bought that from Michaels.

Copics used:
Baby skin- E51,53, 02
Outfit- YG00, 03
hair- C5,7
Bear fur- E34, 37
Nose, belly- E51, 53

Black and White with one Contrasting color

This week at Bronte's & Bellas (alias Mo's) the challenge is to make a black and white card with one contrasting color.  This is an image that my daughter chose from Mo's store...and i thought, how can i use an image this week and this popped into my mind...so that being said the card is made "in honor" of my daughter who took on a difficult job in April and is feeling the "brunt" of this new job lately.  She needs lots of hugs right now.  Kerri this one is for you....

What i did:
I embossed the background paper.  Then i used my gypsy and made a cluster of "hugs" words...sounds simple, but it's a lot of work using different fonts and getting them to fit in a 2 x 4" space.   I colored the cute image and cut it out.  Had my cricut cut out a scalloped circle for behind the elephant and added a bit of black and white baker's twine.

Copics used:
Elephant- C3, 5, 02
Tusk, hair & nails- E81
Monkey- E02, R24

Summer Movie themed card- Pirates of the Caribbean

Another good Tiddly Inks challenge for me to think about and try to do one that hasn't been done yet.  This challenge is to pick a Summer or Scary Movie.   I chose the Pirates of the Caribbean #4...i've only seen the first movie, but i guess if there is a #4 i should check it out?  It is a bit scary to me. Hope that counts? Tiddly Inks had the awesome map and pirate to make this card.

What i did:
I printed of the map to fit on the front and back of the card on regular colored scrapbook paper because it was thinner than cardstock.  I then colored in the various images, cut out the map and distressed the edges.  Then i wadded it all up and distressed it again.  I cut out a card base to be a bit larger than the map and tore the edges and distressed that also.  I adhered map to the card base and poked two holes in the middle ran twine through and tied it off.  Then i colored in the pirate and cut him out. I found a ticket on line that allowed me to write in the sentiment.  Added a bit of glitter and was finished.

Orange you glad it's your birthday...take 2

I am using the digital image found at Digi My World.  It is from the fruit series.  I decided to try this new challenge at Birthday Sundaes challenge blog.  The challenge is to use Green, Orange and white...and to have a birthday sentiment.  This is what i made:

Pup Love - Birthday - two choices

I've used the Pup Love image from Stretch N' Bubble to make these two cute cards.  Click on the image name to find the shop.

What i did:
I enlarged the largest card and folded the paper in half at the ear and tail so the fold will look crooked, but will be cut out fine.  I paper pieced everything but the nose.  The nose has some black sparkly glitter.  I added some more glitter to the pattern paper.

For the multi dogs, i printed them off tiny and used the rainbow as my inspiration.  I colored each dog with copics.

New Freebie at Digi My World...the Alphabet begins today!

I am so super excited about the new freebie at Digi My World...you get a clip art image and a digital image...i chose to use the clip art this time...and i LOVE it!  Check out what i did with the letter "A"

What i did:

The first image is a Canvas frame.  I used the backside of it and made a "shadow box".  I glued ribbon all the way around it on the sides and the front (to cover the staples in the front).  I put a sawtooth hanger in the back.  I printed off a picture to fit and matted it.  I then used brads and went through the canvas to the back..also cut out the clip art letter "A" and matted it and attached it to the canvas as well with a brad.  I used my cricut and cut out a few stars, and used Sesame Street font and cut out the "is for Ayden".  Oh and that cutie is my grandson who is 4.

The second image is a card.  I matted the letter "A" and attached a knot to the top of it.  Used my cricut yet again and the Sesame Street font.  I think this could work for an adult as well as a child.

Just think of all you can do with this letter "A", and the cool thing is that it is a freebie for a week and for the next 25 weeks there will be more alphabet freebies...and i've had a sneak peek of what is coming and they are awesome..and would make a great ABC mini album or book.

Christmas in July

It's been a perfect idea to think of cooler weather with all of the heat we have been having.  I think today is a pleasant day and quite nice to think of Christmas.

What i did:
I used the Wild Card cartridge and made this shaped Star card.  The front is a star attached to the rectangle back.  I used The Greeting Farm stamp from the Roll call kit.  I also used a tag from Winter Frolic along with a sentiment.  The cluster of stars is from a cartridge, but they were in my stash, so i am not sure where they came from.  I used Extreme Glitter paint and painted the cluster, edges of the large star, tag and the word, "you".

Copics used on the image:
Skin- E41, 53, 02
Hair- Y15, YR23
Outfit- G21, 28, R35
Star- G20
Boots- C5,7

Vintage Carnival Birthday card

Bella & Bronte's blog (alias Mo's) is having a fun challenge this week where they want you to make a card that is vintage, distressed and with lace.  This fun image reminds me of summer and carnivals...and i can almost taste the cotton candy.  Wow, i'd love to have cotton candy that large!!

What i did:
I colored the image w/copics and matted and tore the edges added a bit of distressing to the whole card and to the lace and flowers as well.  I typically cut out my image, but this one had a lot of wispy lines on the cotton candy, that i didn't think would look good cut out...so i decided to paint the background w/sparkly paint. I added some baker's twine as well to the lace and buttons.

Copics used:
Skin- E00, 53. 02
Hair- E19, 29
Shirt- Y15, Y23
Jeans- B24,26
Eyes- BG10; Lips- R14

Cotton Candy- RV10, 13
Shoes- C3
Grass- YG03

Knock, Knock- Birthday card

I really like a challenge and the "Bad attitude" challenge at Tiddly Inks...is so hard for me this week.  But no, i couldn't do that challenge, i thought i'd combine the other two challenges that were suggested and i added a sketch one as well...so i had to put my thinking cap on and here is what i came up with....

I tried to make the sketch look like a cupcake, the lace like frosting, and the knock knock joke i made up to work for the "bad attitude" challenge.

The sketch is for deconstructing Jen

Dress Stand & Lipstick Cards

I have just started designing for Stretch N' Bubbles.  So exciting...here is my first set of cards i made.  Hope you like them!
This is the image i used called Dress Stand #2 and you can find it here.

What i did:
To make one card, i printed off the image on cardstock and then on pattern paper.  I actually used phone book paper for the stand and printed scrapbook paper for the dress.  Next you need to cut out the pieces and glue them on the cardstock image.  Then i cut out the entire image and set up my background for the card and used foam dots to attach the dress stand.  To embellish the dress stand i used ribbon or tulle for the belt and tacked it down the ends using glue dots.  I also added some gems.  I used my cricut/gypsy for the "lipstick" sentiments using gypsy wanderings cartridge.   I added some hand stamped images to the background to make it look like a bulletin board. I also punched some leaves using a MS punch.

Alice in the Flowers card

This week at Mo's Challenge Blog we were asked to make a storybook inspired card.  So easy using the gorgeous images at Mo's.  I chose to use the Pencil Alice.  She is beautiful and very fun to color.

What i did:
I purchased a book at Goodwill to use as my background, it was one of those encyclopedia storybooks that no one buys and it gets trashed in the end, this way i was able to recycle this book and will be able to  use it for many more projects.  I also used the paper flowers in the dollar section at Michaels and the little pink "buds" were from a flower pick at Michaels.  I also colored Alice using my copics.  I've been using the ranger pearl paint for embellishments.
