Relaxing in the tub

Okay, i 've been wanting to use this stamp since i purchased it recently and i thought perfect...it fits this TGF challenge to a "T"...

A bit about the bathtub...i love the look of a clawfoot bathtub, but i discovered once i got married that i didn't like taking baths.
I couldn't ever put my finger on why...and now i know..i got too cold..and i couldn't ever get the temp right...just couldn't relax...like everyone else seems to do...  Also, as i was growing up we only took baths, even though our 50's home had a shower head we were not allowed to use it...because the walls around the tub were plaster walls...it even had a chair rail in the tub.  Well, as you know if you take a shower and the walls are plaster...the walls will crumble and not only that it will leak to the finished basement...so it was definitely not allowed.  As i got older my dad built a shower/bath in the basement/laundry room...it was really nice.  And in the last 5 yrs he has tiled around the bathtub...and we can now use the shower when we visit..oh, yeah...they still live in the same house..it's almost 60 yrs old.

Here is my card...i paper pieced the tub...and i think it's a lovely tub...i'd actually like it..well to look at. LOL

I am also using the Tuesday Morning Sketch for this card...Still plenty of time to play along with this sketch challenge!

Looks like a Prima sort of day!

This is another project that i have created for 7 Kids College Fund and i decided to go with a company that is carried at 7 Kids called Prima..most of you might know this name because of their beautiful flowers, but i chose some other gorgeous things and actually no flowers!

What i haven't mentioned so far is the challenge this week at 7 Kids College Fund Challenge blog is to use Embellishments.

*Note...i will include my "how to" at the end of this post.

Here is my project featuring the Mixed Media Doll stamp from Prima called Doll with Ruffle dress as a bookmark for this Prima Fairy Rhymes journal:

Items from 7 Kids College Fund store:

Please take the time to visit the 7 Kids College Fund DT projects/cards they are beautiful!

How to make this bookmark:
I used the backing to the stamp, remember it is glossy so when coloring with copics you will need to seal it with the Glossy Accents.  I also used the backing from the journal to make the bookmark more stable.

I cut out the stamped image and then adhered tape to the back using my xyron.  Then i cut it out again. Before i adhere the journal backing to the image i place ribbon at the top to make it into a hanging bookmark. I added the red line tape to make it more secure.

Next, i stamped the dress sections onto the patterned paper and cut them out.  I have enough to make two dresses.   Here i am showing the Martha Stewart butterfly punches i used to make the butterfly embellishments.
To add the chain to the front of the journal i used the Big Bite Crop a dile...it punches through heavy cardboard easily.

Challenges:
Stampin' for the Weekend- Button it up
Crafty Catz- 3 of something (buttons), 2 of something (two butterfly clips) 1 of something (paper doll stamp)

Digital Delights, Sweet Treats Calorie Free!

Hi All!  What a great treat i have for you.  It looks Yummy, but it's totally calorie free!    I don't know if you've noticed the Digital Delights monthly cupcakes..so far there are 5 special cupcakes made and if you check the previous posts at their blog you can see what the Design team has done using them.  I hope you are collecting the cupcakes like i am???

Go here to see all of the cupcakes at Digital Delights!

The cupcake for May is "school" themed.  I thought i'd go with that idea and make some teacher gifts.  It is a perfect time to make these as school is coming to a close.

Here is my project using the May Cupcake image:

Here is what i did:
I purchased a paper mache cupcake box...it actually opens up and you can fill it with whatever..treats or paperclips.  The other item is a notepad purchased in the $1 bin at Michaels..i just recovered the cover treating it like it was a card.  I also added the little paper clip bookmark at the top, so it can be used when writing in the journal.  As you can see the image is on the journal and i fussy cut it out.  Then for the paper mache cupcake, i enlarged the May cupcake image and cropped just the worm and apple to put on the cupcake.  I broke some yellow pencils in half and sharpened them and poked them into the top..added some apple buttons.  Before i added the embellishments, i added pleated paper to the base and ribbon and hot glued it in place..then i hot glued the white flowers on to look like the frosting.

Thanks for taking a peek, now i hope you will go out and create something too using this image or any of the cupcake images...please make sure you share them with us..we'd love to see what you are doing!!!

A crocheted circle, a sketch and a baby

Did the title peek your attention?  Just a bit maybe?
This week i get to use a gift from a friend on my card.  My friend is Jessi and she crocheted the scallops on the paper circle i am using on my card this week for Anyone for Anya and the challenge Sketch!

I decided to go with a baby theme this week, mainly because of the color i chose for the crocheted circle.  This is a stamp from TGF, i believe it is retired.
If you want to order any of these crocheted circles, my friend, Jessi sells them and you can find the info here.

Here is the sketch this week for Anyone for Anya made by Annie Rose from the DT:

How i made the cupcake box:
To make the cupcake, i die cut the smallest flower from the Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers die set out of Birthday Tissue paper.  I hole punched the centers and added a brad.  I hot glued each of the flowers to the top of the Paper Mache Cupcake box.  Next i wrapped the Washi Tape around the bottom of the cupcake.  I then colored my Dandelion stamped images and i basically cut them out. I also made the reverse image for the back of the bear and cupcake so that the cupcake can be viewed from any angle.  Once the images were cut out i ran one of them through the Xyron.  I then put a toothpick in the center of the bear and placed the "unglued" bear on top..then i fussy cut the bear fur.  I poked a hole in the top of the cupcake box and peeled back the bear legs so that the bear would "sit" on the cupcake (front and back).  I added the cupcake to the paw and then placed the unglued cupcake on the "back" side.   I placed the two sentiment hearts on the cupcake frosting one in the front and one in the "back".  I added Stickles to the frosting on the tiny cupcakes and to the center of the sentiment hearts.
Next i used MFT bow die and placed that on the "side" of the cupcake.

 Copics used:
 Bear- E41, 42, 43
 cheeks/ears- R20. 22
 tiny cupcake- E43, R81, 85
 sentiment heart- R81, 83

How i made the White shrink charms/necklace:
I stamped the images (using Stazon black ink) onto the white shrink film (making sure to stamp on the "rough" side of the film, if it doesn't appear rough, than sand it slightly.
Next i use colored pencils to color my stamped images.  I cut out the images and hole punched them so that i could add a jump ring to make them a charm.  Next i used my heat gun and tweezers to hold the images and followed the instructions on the package..(basically, i just held the images until they shrunk to about half the size..they will curl up and start to lay flat again.)  I added the jump rings and then attached them to the ball an chain necklace.

Flower Power Basket of Daisies...or a Tisket and Tasket

This month at Digital Delights, it has been SOO Delightful with all of the new images to use, don't you think?

I am again using a new release called Flower Power Basket of Daisies.  All of these images are great to color, however at the store you can buy them already colored too!
I thought this image gave the summery look and a shabby chic look as well.  The die cut i am using is from Marianne Designs and is actually a fan die that i've put horizontal instead of vertical.  If you use white core paper you can sand it and get this look and see more of the embossing from the die!  I also used a corner die from Cheery Lynn and my "go to" MS leaf punch.   Those are vintage buttons on the card as well.

Copics used:
skin- YR000, 00, R20, 22
hair- E55, 57, 59
hat- Y21, 23, YR23
flowers- V01, 04, BG11, 72

Fun, Sun and Pinwheels

A Retro challenge at The Greeting Farm inspired me to make this card.  Also, i have like 5 papers left in this paper pad and i am trying to use it up.  How come it is sooo hard to use up those last sheets, it's like they don't match and they are from the same pad!

Here is my card using Twirl Anya:

Can you tell i also found something new?  I found the colored burlap in a roll at Michaels and my spellbinders circles cut through it perfectly!

I also used this sketch from Mojo Monday:

It is getting close to the wedding season

Lot's of weddings coming up?  I've got a super simple card for you to make..well, there is a bit of die cutting and embossing involved.  I think you'd enjoy making this one though!

This week at Anyone for Anya we are celebrating, Weddings!  We can use The Greeting Farm Stamps or we can use CC Design stamps...and this week i've used a Sugarplums bride.

I have been wanting to color her up for some time..and today is the day to share what i created.  I have used Joy Crafts Lacey Square and Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Frames 8 and Savvy Heart.   I also used an embossing folder from Craft Concepts..i love their embossing folders, and the lattice embossing folder from Stampin up.

This one was easy to color up..and I always say that about bride images/stamps. I printed her off two times cut off the veil/head and ran it through using the Stamping Up folder..trying to get the tulle look, and then i ran the bottom half of the image through to get the dress embossing.  I cut out the flowers out after i ran it through and pop dotted them.   The flower is from Michaels and the leaf punch is a MS punch.

Such a Cutie...another new May released image!

So many cuties this month from Digital Delights..and i picked this one to use...there is just something about this sweet face.  Obviously, the dog likes her as well!

Here is my card using this month's new release called Sasha and Pup from Digital Delights:

For this card, i used my new Opulent Oval dies from Spellbinders, i am hoping by the time this goes live that i "get" how to use these dies.  They are "smart" dies..which means i need to be a bit smarter and figure them out.  Let's see what is the word Spellbinders uses to describe this die..oh yeah, sophisticated.. You get 7 dies and the packaging says you can create over 20 designs using them.    Hmmm.  I've also added a flourish die from Doo Hickey and a McGill fern punch.  Flowers from Michaels/Archivers.

Please, please check out the other cards/projects my team mates made at the Digital Delights blog or you can check out the Digital Delights challenge blog and win some great prizes!

It's a Sketch and a Sweet Birthday

Playing again at The Greeting Farm challenge.  This time it's a sketch..and i love sketches!  I've purchased a few of the large stamps (4.75" tall)...and they are so cute.  This one is called Anya Lifts.

I tried my hand at balloon dimension..i haven't don't this too much and it's not bad..i showed the colored image to my husband and i pointed out the shadows to the balloon and of course he said, what about the hair..good thing cause i hadn't thought of it..so now i also have the shadow from the hair as well.

I like to cut out my images, and well, balloon strings are not my forte.  So i substituted baker's twine..it seemed to work.  Anyway, i also got a new frame die from Memory Box..you can always tell, when i get something new..i think you will see this die a lot...in fact i think the last post i did for TGF has this die on it too.

Here is the sketch from The Greeting Farm:

Blue Summer Fun- Monochromatic

I got a new die called Palace Oval set, that i LOVE, it is from Memory Box and i think on this card, i am hoping it gives the feeling of waves splashing?

Actually i've used two memory box dies..the other die is the Loopy Rings die.  The other set of dies is from Marianne Creatables, and they are the seashells and starfish dies. The stamp i've used is called Summer Fun Oliver:
I made this card for The Greeting Farm Monocromatic challenge using these Copic Markers:

Butterfly girl alias Melle Paplion

The more i am involved with cardmaking and paper crafting the more i learn about it.  I remember when i first heard about the CHA and i thought what abreviation do i need to learn now?  Then slowly, i started seeing all of this new product being associated with this new lingo...and now i KNOW what CHA is and it's the Megaland of what everyone wants to have when papercrafting.

So why did i mention all of that?
Well, the image i am using this week for  Tuesday Morning Sketches is one of those things i wanted when i saw all of those goodies being shared this winter at the CHA..for the spring season.  This is a wooden stamp from Penny Black and it's called Melle Paplion..i figured the name must be French and i don't know French..so i am calling her my Butterfly girl stamp.

Some other fun things i've used is Nellie Snellen Multi Oval frame and some Doodlebug Washi tape, the paper is from My Mind's Eye.  I also tried to make an Ombre dress for her by using my Copics listed below.

Here is the Tuesday Morning Sketch for this week (I flipped the sketch on it's side):

Gingham, Purple, Pink and a Chesire Cat

Hmm, what do those things all have in common?  Well, hee, hee..my card this week for
Anyone for Anya and the Photo challenge!

I don't know but when i looked at the photo inspiration i saw that cute little doll sitting on the bed with gingham and pink yarn hair...so i thought of the Cheshire Bean from TGF because of the colors and i added the yarn to my card because of the yarn hair on the doll.  I know the photo looks more "shabby chic" but i went for the colors instead this time. :0)

Here is my card using Cheshire Bean from The Greeting Farm:
I did do some recycling on this card too, i used a page from an Alice in Wonderland book from the charity shop and yarn from my stash of yarn and the corrugated cardboard from a box.  The pink lace in the background is a Cheery Lynn die..and it makes beautiful lace.  The purple flower is from Michaels dollar bin.

Here is the inspirational photo:
