Kiss Me

I've been wanting to use this digital image from the SNB store and i came across the perfect sentiment to go with it.  The sentiment is from Inkadinkadoo and is written by a child.  The digital image looks like it has been drawn by a child as well  soooo...

Here is the image....(click here to transport to the store to see it)

Here is what i did:
I chose to use the sketch from Unscripted Sketches for this card found here.

I stamped the sentiment, printed the image and colored it in.  Using my cricut i cut out the postage stamp frame used behind the sentiment (Gyspy Wanderings cart) and cut out the "Kiss Me" using the Sweetheart cart. I used mini buttons and baker's twine.

Happy Fall card 2- deconstructing jen style :)

The challenge at Mo's Challenge Blog is to make an Autumn project. I know i say this all the time, but LOVE Mo's images, I really do.  This one is so sweet and i think intended for a teacher, but i thought it looked like a fall type card and could still be used as a "thank you", birthday or teacher card. :)

I used the deconstructed sketch by jen...

And this is what i did..

And how i did it..
I colored and cut out the image. Followed the sketch and punched out some maple leaves. I found the free sentiment here.  I added the "pattern" to the skirt by drawing w/the black Copic multi liner.

Trick or Treat - Farm Fresh Friday challenge at TGF

Ah, ha, my last card challenge for TGF Farm Fresh Blog this week...that means i can sew something or do some LO's...or wait... do my He-art Journal page...okay then..

 What i did:
So i used the squirrels from TGF's Forest Friends...i've made a card similar to this one for a magazine submission, but was told that TGF stamps are not "their" style...that's okay 'cause i like them...and i like the magazine too.  I didn't get my submission back so i had to re-create it again.  This is a fancy fold card.  The challenge is "Halloween".  I made the acorn look like a "candy corn"...well that was my intention. :)  I also used a Spellbinders frame.

Challenges:
Incy Wincy Designs- Fancy Folds
KB Cute Monday-  #29 Halloween
Crazy 4 Challenges- Halloween

Sunshine and Rainbows

Rain, Rain go away you've been here too much i want to play...(changed that last part lol)  It's been raining tons in Indiana...and the card i made with the rainbow shape and the cute Miko from WS Roll Call stamp set colored like the sun and a rainbow makes me so happy...just wished the outside weather would be so happy. :)  Oh, oh as i am writing this the sun came out...yay!

The challenge at TGF Farm Fresh blog is "I "heart" Rainbows.  I threw in the sun too (Miko's hair).

What i did:
I colored the image's dress rainbow colors, ROYGBIV...can you believe it had the right amount of stripes/sections???  Whenever my image isn't backed on the card i will back it before i cut it out, because the copic bleeding always shows on the back.  I used Hello Kitty cartridge for the rainbow card.  I stamped the cloud using a MFT stamp and embossed the cloud using my handmade cloud embossing folder.  I decided to finish the inside of the card with a cloud as well.

Nifty Fifties- You totally Rock..birthday

Digi my World's new challenge this week will be "Time Warp".  I've chosen to use Nifty Fifties Burger Stand w/Brittney.  I am also using a sketch from The Sweet Stop.

This is what i did using the sketch and the adorable digi set.
What i did:
I colored and cut out the digital image (Brittney, burger counter and stool)  I stamped some black cardstock with the "You totally Rock" stamp from TGF and then i dry embossed the black paper and cut it fit in the front of the stand.  I also embossed the background white paper w/music notes and distressed it with black ink.  Punch out some black flowers and used buttons for the centers.

In Memory of Bagel

My daughter's dog, Bagel had to be put to sleep about a month ago.  He was a great dane and a wonderful dog and is really missed.  I wanted to make this journal cover/mini album for my daughter and thought the challenge at Tiddly Inks, which is to make a journal page/project would be great for it.

What i did:
I used the image from Tiddly Inks and colored it in.  I did cut off the yorkie type dog on the right hand side because this journal is about my daughter's dog, Bagel.  I tried to color in the large dog to look like Bagel and the girl to look like my daughter.  I cut out the image.  I also cut out the scalloped circle and circle using Elegant edges and Plantin Schoolbook.  I hand sewed green baker's twine around the inside circle.  Then i wove green tulle in and out of the scalloped edges and tied a bow.  I sewed the image to the background paper by using my machine and then i zig zagged around the image and the scalloped edges.  I made my own cover by cutting some cardboard and adhering this cover to it and then  lined the back of the cover as well and made a back cover in the same fashion.  I cut out watercolor paper for the pages.  I also tied tulle and ribbon around the ring/binders at the top.  I made this journal so it could stand up.

He was a good dog.  He loved going for walks.

Challenges:

Have your "elf" a Merry little Christmas card

Mystery Monday at  TGF Farm Fresh Blog is to "case" a card and for the month of October i have decided to start making Christmas cards...i know it's still Sept...but i got a bit excited and started today.  I am making this card step-by-step and including all of the dimensions i used to make this card.  I will make 3 versions of this card.  (One using a digital image, one w/a diecut and one with a sentiment only)  I will add the different versions as i make them.

But first here is the cased card...

And now my version..

And the how to:
Make a card base (i used white) 8.5 x 6.25
First layer is cream 4 x 6
Next layer is  3.75 x 5.75 (green dot)
Cut the green dot into the following pieces:
The bottom piece is 3.75 x 2.25
Top right piece is 2.25 x 3.50
Top left piece is 1.50 x 3.50
I have about 1/8" gap.
Punch or die cut scalloped circles (red)3.25, (cream) 2.5)

Emboss cream circle.

Paper Distress the edges of cream and green dot pieces, then ink distress all of the edges on the card base, layers and embossed scalloped circle.

Next step layer the green dot pieces onto the cream piece (do not put onto the card base until you attach your ribbon)

Attach ribbon and then attach the cream/green dot layers.  Attach red circle to card and then the cream embossed circle.

Next step would be to add your digital image, diecut image or sentiment on the center of the embossed scalloped circle.

Embellish as you like with paper flowers, or 3-d flowers.  Add "title" sentiment at this time.

SNB Window and Bat -October Birthday

I am so excited about how this card turned out.  You know sometimes you have a vision and it just doesn't turn out?  This time what i wanted to do turned out better than i thought it could..and that is rare for me.  I used the SNB Window and Bat image found here as my inspiration for this card.

And this is what i did using the image...

What i did:
I used the Christmas cartridge's window and welded the shutters from the Mini Monster's haunted house layer.  If you have the October 31 Cartridge, you could use the window in there as is.  I then colored and cut out the window/bat image and made an easel card.  I found this wonderful free sentiment here.  I also used my Martha Stewart spider web punch.

Celebrate - Happy Dance style

When i saw that this is Mo's Challenge Blog 100th challenge i wanted to do the "Happy Dance" and this image was what i chose to celebrate this challenge.  Also, it makes a really fun Birthday card!

What i did:
I used a LO sketch to make this card.  I didn't realize that this image comes in brown instead of black so i had to think a bit differently when selecting my paper to piece this image.  I chose to paper piece the skirt and the sweater...so i printed the image 3 times, one for the base that i could color the "un-pieced" part and 2 times w/patterned paper.  I cut out the pieces colored in the image and adhered it to my card base.  I also embossed the white card base using a Sizzix embossing folder.

FFF- White Out challenge- deconscructing jen style

TGF's FFF (Farm Fresh Friday) challenge is to do an all white or mostly white project.
The sketch i used is from deconstructingjen sketch #19.

What i did:
I used the "Kissy Kissy" digital image and left it white except i colored their faces using an almost transparent copic pink marker.  I used deconstructing jen's sketch for this card. The card opens in the middle.  I used several embossing folders and some shiny white paper. I was thinking this would be an "easy" card being all white, but actually the constructing of it takes the same amount of time whether it is white or colored...the only difference was not coloring the image.

WOW at TGF- Happy Halloween Goth style

WOW or (Which one Wednesday) challenge is a sketch by Rachel #11.  I am staying with my Halloween theme from this last week and chose to use a Sweet and Toxic stamp.
Here is the sketch:

Here is my take on the sketch:

What i did:
I used my Accent Essentials cartridge and welded a circle and the "viewmaster" type diecut to make a card base.  I wove black tulle in and out of the cut spaces and tied a bow.  Used my trusty cricut again and cut out 2 circles and an oval.  Color and cut out the Sweet and Toxic image (and added a bit of sparkle).  Stamped "Happy Halloween" using the Spooktacular stamp set for my sentiment.

Mystery Monday- Another Trick or Treat card TGF style

Today was a super busy day with an Autism walk/festival and spending time with my family.
So i am just finishing up my card for the Mystery Monday "Casing" challenge at the  TGF Farm Fresh Challenge Blog.
This first card is the card i am casing (made by Grace)

And this one is mine. (bad picture because of the lighting...and probably how i took it)

What i did was use my rubber stamp set called "Spooktacular" (now available in digital).  I stamped the image/scanned it and enlarged it.  I made the little "trick or treat" bag for the cute pumpkin to hold.

You're Too Hot to Handle- card

The  Farm Fresh Friday Challenge at the TGF challenge blog is to make a project/card with the "You're hot or cold theme.  I chose "hot".  I would have liked to use the "Cheeky Naughty" but i haven't purchased that one yet and then...today another perfect digi is being release called, "Cheeky Kitty", but not in enough time to make this card, so i went with "Cheeky Princess" and removed her crown.  I had wanted to use the candy "Red Hots", and use the saying, "Trick or Treat", but that might be taken another way so i scrapped that idea, well i didn't scrap it, i tossed that idea out.

What i did:
I reduced the image and colored her looking at the Red Hots packaging, (actually she'd look great on the package) and added the Christmas red flower stamen that look like the "red hots" to the card. You can find a big bundle of these at Hobby Lobby in the Christmas section.

Boy Attitude -I am not going to tell you

My grandson is very expressive at almost 5yrs old.  He says some really interesting things.  His newest saying is, "I am not going to tell you", which really means, "I don't know"..it always makes me chuckle because i KNOW what he means, but someone hearing the conversation might not.  For example when he comes home after preschool, he talks non-stop, and then i ask specific question, like what are the names of the boys that  were at school today, and he will use his "Ayden-ism".  I've left a large space for his mom to fill in with all of his Ayden-isms.

What i did:
I enlarged the image called "Guilty Bert" i used Word and made the image "behind text" and added the words to his t-shirt. I then colored the image to look like the picture of my grandson.  I cut him out and adhered him to my LO.

Happy Halloween- deconstructing jen's style

I missed out on deconstucting jen's sketch last week, but loved it and wanted to use it for this TGF WOW challenge (Metal Head).  I used Happy Day Amelia rubber stamp and colored her "Halloween" style.  She IS a cutie, a bit hard to hand cut out her necklace, but i worked out i think.  I wanted the sketch to have a "door" look and i super love the orange background paper.  I always think of my granddaughter, Sadie when i color in Amelia.  Sadie loves those type of necklaces.

Happy Fall card- deconstructing jen style :)

Good bye Summer, Hello Fall...how's that for a challenge...sounds good to me.  You could join me and make a card at Tiddly Inks challenge blog where this challenge is currently going on. Or you could go to deconstructing jen and do the sketch below.

What i did:
I used the "Whatcha Carving" image from Tiddly Inks and because i use "Word" i made my image be "behind the text" so i could type "Happy Fall" on my pumpkin.  I went a little "Magnolia-ish" and added some floral embellishments and diecuts...you can't see it but the brown leaves interwoven w/the flowers is brown glitter paper.

Mystery Monday- Trick or Treat TGF Style

Putting this card on my blog instead of the TGF gallery because the gallery link is down.  So sad.  I've used the Spooktacular set that is now digi (mine was rubber)..super price at $5 for the set (that is $1 for each image!)  Digi's are always instant gratification... :)
Here is the card we were to case for Mystery Monday...

Humpty Dumpty Get Well card

Hi, I am on the design team at SNB (Stretch n' Bubbles) Blog and this week i've decided to use Humpty Dumpty.  He is really a fun and detailed image.

What i did:
The printed background is embossed w/the lattice folder.  I tried to make the Humpty dumpty look distressed/vintage by using distressed ink and then slightly sprinkling it with water and wading the paper up...then i ironed it with my iron...and i found that the paper got thicker...isn't that odd?  The sentiment is from Lyrical letters cartridge.

All you need is a friend w/chocolate card

Yes, i saw this cute, cute image at Mo's Digital Pencil and thought,  "oh, this saying would be so cute with this image".  The image is called Chocolate Smile and i am using it for the current Sketch Challenge at Mo's Challenge Blog.  The sentiment is from Inkadinkado.

What i did:

I used my cricut to cut out a small envelope/pocket and adhered it to the card base.  I also made the scalloped circle using Elegant Edges cart.  I then colored and cut out the cute image.  Added a bit of floral embellishments and the sentiment to make a really fun card for my special friend!

Interactive Get Well card

The WOW challenge at TGF Farm Fresh Challenge blog is a sketch.  I used Summer from the Wild Sprout Collection.

The sketch:

What i did:
I chose to make the card into an interactive card by making the card a bed w/a flap that opens up.  The flap is the "blanket" and the little girl paper doll is removable, the card has a little "strip of paper" that holds her in place.  I also backed the little girl to cover up the copic marker's bleeding through and to give the little girl some stability.
