For You!

I have been wanting to play with Lisa Horton - Songbirds for a while and today i had that opportunity!
I did some "altering" with Songbirds. I chose to fussy cut out the bird, after i stenciled and 3d Embossed it.
For the background (Lisa Horton - A Year in Bloom 2026, March) i decided to hand cut out the "window" area and back it with another 3D embossing folder (Tracey Hey/Lisa Horton - Bubbles)

Here is a list of what i used:
Lisa Horton - SongBirds Layering Stencils
Lisa Horton - SongBirds 3D embossing folder w/inset die
Lisa Horton - A Year in Bloom 2026, March - Spring Flowers 3D embossing folder

A Little Birdie Told Me...

If you like creating your own card design, you will LOVE this month's NEW Freebie from White Spruce Studio!

You will get 12 different digital downloads garden elements that you can mix and match and create a scene.. or you can just use one by itself!

For this card i first started with a digital paper background (the blue paper is free at Bonnie Kohane Craft Time Page).

I layered the fence on top of the digital paper in my "word/pages" program.

To get the fence to be more transparent, you need to find the "opacity" option. I can find that option on my Mac in Pages under "Format" and then "Style". I reduce the opacity to 22%. I love how that turned out! You can also do this in Photoshop using the opacity.

Next, i combined the Birdhouse and the Wheelbarrow. And because the images are PNG (transparent background) i can layer them on top of each other. I chose to layer the two images separately from the background with the fence, because i wanted some depth. But you can totally add the images on top the fence that has the lower opacity.

I then colored the images with colored pencils and hand cut it out and then layered it on top of the fence with double sided foam tape. (I actually die cut my background and made my card base before i added the cut out images with foam tape)

I have also used:
Spellbinders - Nested Postage Labels for the card base (and small stamp)
Spellbinders - Postage Number

Wishing You Sunny Days!

You can create this sweet wall art or make it as a card if you'd like!

Here is what i used:
White Spruce Studio - 52 Baby Farm Animals (Bunny, Sun, fence and flower)

For this project, i up-cycled a charity frame. Originally it had a Christmas theme. I covered the scene with blue glitter paper and layered some paper on top. Next i printed out the Bunny, sun, fence and flower several times and layered them with foam tape to create a 3D wall art scene. You can also do single layers or make this a sweet baby card! Don't forget these can be used on baby onesies and shower decorations!

Creating a Stamped Circus Doll Dress

Each week i share something i have created based on a theme.

This week the theme is "circus".
So, i thought about that i wanted to do something with the circus tent "fabric" and then i remembered i had a Tim Holtz red rubber stamp called, Big Top, that i thought was so fun when i purchased it and i hadn't used it yet.

So this is what i did:
First i cut out the stripe dress pattern on the bias because i wanted the diagonal stripe instead of a vertical or horizontal stripe. I added gold rick rack to the sleeve hem.
To create the image, i found a scrap of cotton muslin thinking it would take the ink better than a polyester fabric. I knew i was going to make it an applique so i added heat and bond to the back of the muslin and then i put it in my stamp platform that also had a sticky mat so it could hold the fabric well, i still used the magnet and washi tape to hold it down. I knew i'd have to stamp the image several times and the platform allowed me to do that without the fabric moving.
I tried the dress on the doll without the stamped image applique, so i could see where i wanted to iron the applique on. Once i was happy, i ironed it on and hand stitched around it using the button hold stitch.
Now for embellishing...
I had gold tulle in my stash and gathered a piece for the bodice and for the hem of the skirt. I added red pompoms to the tulle on the bodice.
For the appliques, i added gold beads, iridescent beads and embroidery floss.

I used Kelibu - Mori Girl Collared Dress. (I added 1/4" to the shoulder seam)
Because i added 1/4" to the seam i had to make a sleeve with more width. (this pattern doesn't come with a sleeve, so i used another pattern and widened it)
I also cut a strip of fabric on the bias to make a neck facing.
