Crocheted Charms Paper Project

Today i am sharing a fun project!

I used:
WSS Digital Crocheted Animals (this set has 30 different images including flowers and mushrooms)

WSS Key To My Heart Paper purse (hardware clips only)

WSS Shirt Paper Purse (pearl necklace only)

WSS Bag Bundle (handle only)

I started out with a rectangle and cut it apart to make a pocket that i layered on top of the larger rectangle.
Then i printed out WSS Digital Crocheted Animals (bear, bee, flower stems, flower arrangement and mushrooms). I decided to make some of the images 3D, but you could totally just use one layer. To make the 3D images i printed them out 3-4 times and fussy cut them out and layered each layer with double sided foam tape.

To make the handle i used WSS Paper Bag Template bundle (handle only) so that the bag could lay flat for mailing.
To distinguish between the pocket in the front and the pocket in the back, i cut a small strip and placed it on top and under the pocket. I also decided to add the strip to the top of the bag to have it show up on top of the paper.

To make the chain and charm tabs, i used the hardware from the My Heart Purse and the pearls from the Shirt Purse cut it in half and punched holes in the center of the circles and then i attached the circles to the hardware and glued the hardware to the heads of the animals.

I fussy cut the flower stems and arranged them on the purse. I printed two sets of mushrooms and arranged those around the handle. The second set i cut off the top of the tan and red mushrooms and used double sided tape to make them 3D. The extra yellow mushroom i put behind the bear.

Lastly, i printed off the floral arrangement 3 times and fussy cut the full image and then fussy cut out the flowers as a cluster and then two individually and added double-sided foam tape to layer them up.

I put the entire purse on top of the paper that comes with the crocheted animals bundle with double-sided foam tape.

I did add accordion paper fold behind the top pocket so it would be able to be folded down for mailing, however the 3d animals do have a bit of bulk.

For You!

I have been wanting to play with Lisa Horton - Songbirds for a while and today i had that opportunity!
I did some "altering" with Songbirds. I chose to fussy cut out the bird, after i stenciled and 3d Embossed it.
For the background (Lisa Horton - A Year in Bloom 2026, March) i decided to hand cut out the "window" area and back it with another 3D embossing folder (Tracey Hey/Lisa Horton - Bubbles)

Here is a list of what i used:
Lisa Horton - SongBirds Layering Stencils
Lisa Horton - SongBirds 3D embossing folder w/inset die
Lisa Horton - A Year in Bloom 2026, March - Spring Flowers 3D embossing folder

A Little Birdie Told Me...

If you like creating your own card design, you will LOVE this month's NEW Freebie from White Spruce Studio!

You will get 12 different digital downloads garden elements that you can mix and match and create a scene.. or you can just use one by itself!

For this card i first started with a digital paper background (the blue paper is free at Bonnie Kohane Craft Time Page).

I layered the fence on top of the digital paper in my "word/pages" program.

To get the fence to be more transparent, you need to find the "opacity" option. I can find that option on my Mac in Pages under "Format" and then "Style". I reduce the opacity to 22%. I love how that turned out! You can also do this in Photoshop using the opacity.

Next, i combined the Birdhouse and the Wheelbarrow. And because the images are PNG (transparent background) i can layer them on top of each other. I chose to layer the two images separately from the background with the fence, because i wanted some depth. But you can totally add the images on top the fence that has the lower opacity.

I then colored the images with colored pencils and hand cut it out and then layered it on top of the fence with double sided foam tape. (I actually die cut my background and made my card base before i added the cut out images with foam tape)

I have also used:
Spellbinders - Nested Postage Labels for the card base (and small stamp)
Spellbinders - Postage Number
