Pirate Tilda visits the Olympics

Arghh, there's a Pirate at the Olympics...her name is Tilda.  LOL  Actually, i am making a card for three challenges and one at Midweek Magnolia happens to be Olympic themed...and i didn't really feel like using the Edwin image i had..so i tried to be a little bit more creative...and used the Pirate Tilda with the Jolly Roger from the Fairytale collection.

Here is my card and then i will explain:
Okay so first you need to know what the image looked like originally so that you will know what i did...
Magnolia - 874 JOLLY ROGER TILDA-stamping scrapping, stamping scrapping designs, stampingscrapping, paper crafting supplies, card making supplies, stamping supplies, rubber stamps, tilda, edwin, magnolia magazine, ez mount, sweden stamps, swedish stamps, maggies, mini magnolia, magnolia paper, magnolia First, I made a tracing/pattern of the flag and cut it out of plain paper to cover up the skull and bones.  Then i colored in the image.  I decided to make the treasure map that is rolled up in Tilda's hand a rose...so i colored it and then snipped the tiny bit behind her hand away and added two leaves.  I used the instructions by Zoe in the Summer Magnolia Ink to color the dress and give some fabric folds..i made the bodice blue and added a tiny star button and a glitter gem.  To get the Olympic circles on the flag, i punched a tiny hole in my paper and then came back with the next size up and punched another hole.  For the tag, i just used the die that came with the tag to make the circles.  To make the gold and red flower i used a spiral die (which i am not fond of).

For this challenge at Card Crafter's Circle challenge blog, i needed to make a shape card...and i was lucky to find an image from Meljen's Designs that had a perfect shape!  I then did some searching and found a great site to give me the idea to make this shape card.  That info is here.

You know, "You're the Best"!

When i saw this Tilda with Carrots..i just loved her, but you know i wasn't quite sure how i wanted to use her on a card..she's great for fall, but i am thinking she could be used like this anytime?

So with two challenges in mind, one for Totally Tilda, "Summer Fun" and the other for Just Magnolia, "In the Country" they come together to make a wonderful "State Fair" card.

Happy Birthday, Edwin style

You know the number one card i read about that people struggle with making?  It's a masculine/boy card...little boy and baby are probably the easiest though.  I would bet that teen would be the next one.  Anyway, was just thinking about it...  I think that Edwin from Magnolia stamps probably gets overlooked next to Tilda..kind of like Ken and Barbie.

So i am glad that the challenge at Magnolia Stamp Lovers is "Edwin Only" ...
Here is my card:
I chose to pop up his leg a bit higher than his other leg...by using a thicker foam dot.  I also used some "clock gears" instead of the flower shown in the sketch.

At Mo's challenge blog the current challenge is "In the Dog House"...i was surprised at how many Mo's images i had with dogs..however, i haven't used this image yet..even though i had him in my "line up" (i had printed him off..lol)  This image so made me want to have a chocolate chip cookie...one of my favorite treats.. oh what am i saying anyone that knows me knows i like any type of desserts.  My son-in-law laughs at me when i say pie is fruit and it's great for breakfast!

Hope it's not too late...

to say...you fill in the blank,  Hope it's not to late "to wish you a Happy Birthday" or "send you best wishes for a great day", or "to follow your dreams"...

This is my card for {Pin}spirational challenge blog:

This week the challenge at {Pin}spirational is to use this photo as inspiration.

Our sponsor this week is from Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps and the image i used is a freebie found here.

Gonna stick my neck out...

And wish you a Happy Birthday...  Cute image, huh?

I am going to tell you my mistake, so that maybe, maybe it might help someone else...
Here is the deal..i like to cut out my images...and normally, i don't have too much of a problem cutting out the teeny tiny bits...but today the giraffee's mane got a "haircut" and instead of throwing it all away and starting over..i gave him a baker's twine bow...now see..if i didn't tell you, you might not have known.  And in the end, i wouldn't have thought to give him a bow and i actually like it better!!  So mistakes can be good. :)
