Queen of Hearts LTD edition

This is an image that was introduced this month at The Greeting Farm..in fact there are 4 Alice in Wonderland Limited Edition stamps..i've already made one card using the Hatter Bean this image is called "Queen Bean".  Once these sell out they will no longer be made...that is my understanding from the Greeting Farm site..and from other sites like the 7 Kids College Fund where i purchased this stamp.

Here is my card celebrating the Alice in Wonderland theme:
I have used printable cards from online and cut them for the background then i found some paper in my stash that looks like the backs of old playing cards.  I added a Tim Holtz heart charm and used my favorite hand dyed ribbon from Pink Petal Ribbon on Etsy.

My mom's birthday card

This week at Tuesday Morning Sketches..we have such a pretty sketch..i've made it several times..well two times because i like it so well!  Our sponsor is "There She Goes"!

This week i used a stamp that has a great memory for me.  I used to have a candy store (short period of time) above a Cross Stitch Market..remember when those were really popular in the late 80's?  Well, there was this pamphlet i just loved and had purchased with the "someday" intention of stitching it up...well that day didn't come and in the moving i did, i got rid of it.  Well, the silly part of me, tracked it down and purchased it again..(Yeah, it will probably not get stitched again...)  I will share a picture of the pamphlet below and you will see how similar this stamp is from Penny Black.

Here is my card with the stamp called "Best Friends" from Penny Black:

Florence Nightingale is an Angel..in time for Nurse's Day!

On my agenda, i have a list of nurses cards i want to make.  This is the second one on my list for this year.  I purchased this stamp last year just after Nurse's Day.  I really like the Cheeky Greeting Farm Stamps...they are really cute!

I made this card with 3 challenges in mind.
For this card, i used an old Sizzix die for the cloud.  I had a Doodlebug bandaid sticker i had saved to use one day for a Nurse's card, and today was the day.  I also added some irridescent wings to this figure, the wings are a Spellbinders Mixed Media set that come with bird wings..it seems to work perfect for this size image.   The charms are from Jo-Anns.

This is the sketch from The Sweetest Thing blog that i used for this card:

Copics used:
skin- YR000, 00, R20, 22

Carousel Wedding Card..it's not what you think

I came across this ad for a new Marianne Die and was fascinated with the card and how the die worked..i have still not made a "full-blown" carousel card (not like the ride, but like the shape).  This project/card is a quarter of the actual full blown carousel card.  What is cool now, is that Marianne Creatables/Designs has made a die that can make 3 different size carousel cards/projects.  I have used the middle die in the set.  I did a lot of research on the internet to "see" the intention behind this die, but really haven't found out the real intention for this die yet, but in searching i've found a few Carousel cards.  I was so intrigued that i shared this idea with a friend that does a lot of hand cutting and she took off on this concept right away and created her own cards by hand..and they are gorgeous. (If you want to take a look at her creations you should check out her blog- Sigi's Creations)
My Pinterest Carousel card links here.

Here is the inside of my Carousel Card:
What is cool about this card is that if folds up into itself to make a quarter of this size.
Here is the card closed:
For my card i added pop ups inside and they stick out slightly when closed, i had to make sure i offset the clock and the penguins so that they wouldn't get folded:

To make it easier to close i cut the background embossing paper into quarters.  The same with the doily die.  I didn't, however, cut the dies in the center of the oval frame..those are corner dies...again from Marianne Creatables.  The clock is also a Marianne Creatables die...to give it a "mantel" look i cut out another larger corner die and placed it behind the clock both of the corner dies were pointing up.  After i embossed the clock i also stained it using Tim Holtz distress ink.

Copics used:
C1, 3, 5, 7, R20, 22, B91, BG10, 11, 13, YR12
Gelly Roll pen, Stickles diamond

These bunnies aren't just for Easter, you know!

Actually, this is one digital image that comes in a .jpg or png format.  So i played with this new technique and layered them together.  The image is from A Day for Daisies and i was so lucky to purchase this sweet bunny when it was on sale.  Oh but, you should go and check out this bunny's brother and sisters in the different flowers..it was so hard to pick, so i was glad this one was on sale.

The challenge at A Day for Daisies is to use your favorite technique...so hard, because i like all of the techniques...i love to color, sew on my machine, use embellishments, fussy cut and use glitter...so i did them all.
Here is a close up sideways..so you can see the ears curling forward.

 Copics used:
bunny- E41, 42, 43
ears- R02, 20, 22, E00

leaves- G20, 21, BG72

Digital Delights has such a great variety of stamps and themes..like this image i used this week, it can be used for so many things!  I chose to use if for a birthday theme.

Do you remember the first time you went to a circus?  I can..and i also remember the clowns being so colorful and funny.  I can just see the confetti flying out of this cannon, can't you?

The image i used this week is called Cannonball Buttons and sentiment from the Blast off accessories set from Digital Delights:
I used a Memory Box flourish.  The oval cut behind is an oval i changed the size of using my cricut.  The three different stars are a Fiskars and Marvy punches.  I did use an awesome sketch but challenge has expired.  I will share the sketch from Bombshell Stamps and link as i am sure they have another sketch this week worth trying!
