You know i love new techniques..and i've been thinking about the sticky-back vinyl that Cricut released some time ago...and how i could use it. It dawned on me that ANY die would be awesome with this technique.
So when i received this new release from Dutch Paper Crafts...i envisioned using these dies on glass...and then i thought of a vase because of Valentine's Day, but also because it could be used for a Wedding...or quite frankly..as a Shabby Chic decoration. Once i started playing with it, i noticed that it would be awesome on glass cupboards too.
So here is what i made, but before i get too far..i must tell you to save the backing from the diecuts because i will be using it on another project in another post!!
I have used Marianne Creatables dies:
LR0250 and LR0249
I did a trick though...i cut out LR0250 (the die with the flower facing the front) and then i cut out 2 of the LR0249, but for one of them i cut it out in reverse. How did a cut it out in reverse? Instead of the die being on the right side of the vinyl i put it on the back side of the vinyl to get the reversed die cut. I didn't plan on "embossing" the vinyl so it doesn't matter if i do this.
The vases look really pretty just like this..you could add some glass marbles and a rose bud for Valentines and it would be a lovely gift..or fill the vase with Valentine M & M's and add a handmade paper flower.
Now for for more fun, i added a battery operated tea light to get a romantic affect or a great idea for a Wedding Centerpiece. The vases were at Micheals and the flowers in the dollar bin.

This is stunning! I've never seen this before and it would be perfect for a wedding!
