Ode to my mom and grandma...

I am still working on a lot of projects not finished, i have come to the conclusion that in my life time they won't get done.

I have many digital images from A Day for Daisies and i had printed this one off called, Mother Feather Hat and had started coloring it and never finished.
So on Mother's Day i felt inspired to finish it.
I have this photo of my grandma where her friends all got together with their hats and had a photo taken. I wondered if any of the hats were this color? The "leaves" are supposed to be feathers, but i felt they needed to be leaves.

I colored her hair the color of my mom's hair. I used Prismacolor Pencils for the majority of this image. I had started coloring this image's skin with Copics (haven't used them for years) and added the depth with pencils.
I was also inspired to create this card because of a card group i am in. The background is an old Anna Griffin embossing folder called, Matelasse and the flowers are from another Anna Griffin die set called Hummingbirds.
For the embossing folder, i embossed 2 different patterned papers and an ivory paper (for the base) and cut out the rectangles from the pattern paper and glued them on top of a ivory paper . It was a fun "puzzle". I chose to frame out the background to cover up the uneven edges. The image did end up covering up a lot of that work.. but don't worry, because i embossed the entire folder with the pattern paper, i ended up making two card bases.

Thanks for stopping by!
