Sherri Baldy's My Besties Woodland Greeting!

I love making Woodland type cards, because Fairies are one of my youngest daughter's favorite thing.  Her love for fairies began when we lived in Wales, UK for 3 yrs.  Now she has a room with fairies on the wall and part of the decorations..most of the items we purchased when we lived in Wales.

Anyway, one of the challenges i am doing is offering this image at a discounted rate and with the current sale going on at My Besties Etsy you can get this image for $1..not too many digi's out there for such a bargain...oh but wait it's even better if you use this digi on a card for the My Bestie's UK challenge you will also get another free image just for using the discounted image.  Not bad, i'd say..two images for the price of $1.  For your discounted digi click here.

Here is the image that is discounted..and BTW i "erased/masked" the eyes on the mushroom...just like you would when using a rubber stamp, except i did it in a program.
This is a horizontal slider card.  I am on a roll with making these because they make the image just pop (no pun intended) even more.  This is the slider "open".
This is what the card looks like from the front and the slider closed:

Happy Birthday to my friend, Sher! Sherri Baldy's My Bestie's featuring Mother's Pearls, Daddy's shoes.

I am a bit late at making this card for my friend Sher.  I just met her this year and found she lives close to me when i am up in Michigan.  She always has the time to listen and encourage me when i am working on the My Bestie teams.  Truly a wonderful new friend.

I am a day early at completing this card for Sher but a day late at sending it out to her.  Her birthday is tomorrow.. June 21!

For this card i am using a die from Paper Trey..they have a vertical slider die that works perfect for this card design.  The image i am using is called Mother's Pearls, Daddy Shoes and can be found here.

I decided because i spent most of today working on this for Sher, that i would enter it in a few challenges (here is the card with the slider pulled open):
Here is the card closed (left) and on the right is the side of the card so you can see the construction, you can also see the embellishment butterfly digi i used from Sami Stamps found here:

Sami Stamps featuring Butterfly 1

Every two weeks i look forward to the new release that  Sami Stamps  creates.  This time the release is called Butterflies!

The current challenge at Sami's Stamps is to use a Sami Stamp and to use Stripes.
Please come and play, we'd love to see what you can create.  Don't forget, Sami always offers a freebie so anyone can play along!  To go to the Sami Stamps challenge click here.

I love this sweet whimsical image called Butterfly 1:

What i did to achieve this look.. i printed off the butterfly large and then i printed off a bit smaller.  When i did the purple butterfly, i printed it off twice and colored it twice and then layered it with a foam dot.

I used watercolor pencils for these butterflies and Extreme Glitter paint/hologram.

Dies used:
The white lace border is from Marianne Designs
The floral flourish is from Memory Box

I also used an embossing folder in the background and cotton string to form wreath circles.

Here is the fun new release, Butterflies:

Sherri Baldy's My Besties Paper Doll Dresser Card

Some time ago, i saved this cute dresser card (step card) with an adorable image of a little girl and i've wanted to make this card ever since i saw it.

Since that time i have come across another adorable Paper doll image from Sherri Baldy and thought, "oh, how perfect this would be"!  To find the paper doll image click here.

Now here's the deal.. i didn't print off the extra clothing..in fact for some reason i didn't even down load it to my computer..and found out about the extra clothing AFTER i made the this card.  LOL.  Now i can make another one with different clothing.

Here is what i created:
Here is a side view:

Have you ever made a side step card before?  This one is fairly easy..and you can make two bases out of one 8.5" x 11" piece of paper.  Here are the instructions i used to make this one.

Now to make it my "own", i found a great Memory Box die called Victorian Frame set #98535 to make into the mirror and i used foil for the mirror part.  I also added some Wild Orchid flowers, hand strung some pearl beads onto wire for a necklace..added embellishments i had cut out and saved in my stash (butterflies/paper flowers).
