My Besties Hollywood Glamour style..

I am super excited..i have always been bummed how Stickles/diamond looks on any dark colored section..most of the time it does not enhance the darkness.  This time i am excited because of the Hollywood/Glamour theme i was trying to achieve with an image that started out as a Garden girl image 313 here.

Based on the lighting and how i photograph the card i got different highlights..all of which i found to be fun and a treat for the person receiving the card. :)  What do you think?

Your Next Stamp YNS revisits Little Bear Bouquet

It’s time for another Your Next Stamp Fun Friday challenge!

Let's see i used this adorable image called Little Bear Bouquet back in January and he is ready to share his bunch of flowers again and this time for that someone special..it could be a Mother's Day card or for a that special Birthday!


Here’s my project using Little Bear Bouquet from the YNS store:

 He is super cute and it's not to hard to make this card..you just need some double sided paper that you like..and cut it right in the middle horizontally and pull back the sides carefully and use some brads to secure the edges.  Before you attach this pulled back section, i put some matching paper on top of the card w/some paper lace.   I did ink distress the edges. When you put the folded section on top of the card i only taped the 3 sides so that i could tuck my image in the opening. i did use foam tap and glue dots to secure him.  The sentiment is from Digital Delights.

Digital Delights Movie night with Sweeny Skunk!

Everyone loves a movie night..even if it's at home on your couch and this month's new release at  Digital Delights  has made everything you'd need to make a card for that someone special and then i'd make a special container that has everything you need to complete your movie night.  

Here is the card i made for the Digital Delights Blog using Sweeny Skunk and some movie accessories:

There are a couple of fun things i did with this card..first i colored the images and then i cut them out.  I used a Glaze pen on the glasses and on the popcorn bowl.  For the couch i cut the pillows out and ran the couch through my machine w/a lattice embossing folder to give the couch texture..and then i placed the pillows back on the couch.. (no texture).  I used Tim Holtz film strip and black gems to accent it.  I then cut out the sentiment and the tickets for embellishments.

My Besties Making Faces Grandmother's Day or Birthday card for Grandma!

Sheri Baldy just recently designed this awesome My Besties Making Faces image #324 found here and i knew i wanted to make a card instantly with this image..i just needed to take time away from my other DT commitments to do this card...

I knew i wanted to play along with some other challenges before i made this card, so that was my starting point..to find a sketch that would work with the image and then some theme challenges to go with it.. and this is what i came up with base on that criteria:

I have also used a sentiment from Raisin Boat Stamp called Grandma's Kitchen and a couple dies.  The card base and first layer and the sentiment die are from Marianne Designs.  The die behind the image is a Tattered Lace circle.

I have also used some lavender tulle on her hat for her veil. This is how i do it..i make a slit with my art craft knife and slip a gathered piece of tulle in the slit and tape it on the back to stay secure.

National Nurses Day Card

To all nurses.. Happy Nurses Day on May 6th and for the week following!

A couple of years ago i was asked by a customer on Etsy if i could make some Nurse Day Cards, until she asked me i wasn't aware of this recognition.  Since that time i try to remember in April to make a few nurse cards.

Today i made this card using a My Besties digital Nurse image..she is just so pretty!
