I have accepted a new DT position for My Besties on YouTube!  I will be making monthly videos for this team.  I am pretty excited because it is pushing me to get a better set up.  At the bottom of this post, i have to share the new set up i have and it only cost me $15 to make a free armed "tripod".

Previously on Youtube, i used a Flip camera and edited my taping using the program that came with it.  Well, like all electronics.. it was no longer used because of cell phones and the ability to make great videos..so the Mac system no long supported my editing program...so i quite making videos.

Usually my videos are instructional..i made my first video for my friend because she was struggling with using a cricut cartridge..(quite some time ago) and so i quickly taped how to put the layers together..and popped it on YouTube not having any idea that anyone but my friend would see it.. i wasn't into YouTube at the time...other than to watch a few videos.  All of the sudden i had a bunch of people following me and i felt responsible and started making a few videos and my audience increased.  As i said i stopped when i couldn't create the videos with my flip camera.

Lately, i've been making videos, but because i had to hold my camera with one hand and make crafts..it limited me to what i could do while filming..and my filming was a bit shaky at times.

So now i have this neat set up, thanks to Goodwill and to my husband. 
What we found was a lamp at Goodwill for $4.99 it has a weighted base so i can position it anywhere.  It also has a weighted arm, so i can have some flexibility moving my camera up and down.  We also purchase a car mount at Marshalls (men's dept...where the gadgets are).  My husband took the end of the phone mount off and the shade off of the lamp and cut the cord and took the wiring off.  The car phone mount is adjustable and can rotate. The car mount was $10.

I love this sweet whimsical image called Pumpkin Smile.

I have used this cute image on a slider card.  This is the front of the card opened.

And this is what the front of the card looks like closed. The whole card opens up like a normal card would..to write a sentiment or a note.  The pull tab also has a place to write something!

Be-Witchingly, Boo- tee -Ful

How could i resist?  The Greeting Farm makes a post with a brand new witch digi and i fell for it...and you can see why..i am not kidding i purchased it yesterday and made the card today!

I know some people don't like Halloween and the celebration, i grew up in the 60's where it wasn't about "evil" but about dressing up and a way to visit our neighbors that i never got to see.  i know, that now, some people have ruined what was nothing but a way to visit our neighbors and for kids to dress-up into something bad.  I choose to look at the good and not let the bad win out.  

So with that thought i've created a sweet good witch card:

 

I used a Martha Steward spiderweb border punch.  I also made a tiny slit in her hat and gathered up some black tulle and slid it through.  One of the new techinques i did was to use my Envelope Punch to make the the notches in the strip, i cut out my matted black paper and punched it and remembered what i punched it at and then cut out the black stripe and punched the notch out so that it could line up..in this case i punched at 4.5 (black mat) and then the stripe at 4 3/8.  So more than one way to use that tool..  I think it would make a fun tie shape too..

Grandma & Me Halloween Card

I made this card with my grandsons.  They helped by coloring the pumpkin and the grass.  It is a 6 x 6" card and can be used in a scrapbook album.  Below is the step-by-step instructions.  Thanks for looking.  

Stamp a pumpkin

Grandma stamped a pumpkin for the boys to color.

Matting the colored/stamped pumpkins

I decided that the pumpkins needed a bit more color.  After cutting them out i adhered them to some orange paper and cut them out again.

Photo placement

I used photo shop picture package to make 20 2"x 2" photos.  See the placement of the photos in this picture.

Background template for card

I used a small plate to make the curve for my background patterned paper template.  I corner rounded the background paper before i adhered it to the black card.

Corner rounding

After you've cut out the template for the front and adhered it, you can round the corners on the top and bottom right hand side of the black card using a corner punch.
