This one's for you my friend

Sweet little Tilda and her offering is so touching and beautiful.  I've chosen to use this image for this challenge, Tilda with Daisy.  I would not have noticed this image if it had not been for my friend, Jenee...she is my Magnolia enabler..:)

Good Things come in small packages

Challenge for this project was to make something small...no larger than 4 x4.  I actually made 2 in one for this challenge.  I made a corner bookmark that takes a piece of paper 4 x 4...and i made a miniature Alice "book"...and the image is holding that in her hand.  The mini book is no larger than 3/4"...just fit the length of a staple to add pages inside of it.

Thinking of you today

I don't know, but i feel like in the end this card reminds me of the 80's...i didn't grow up in the 80's...but it just feels like it and it wasn't my intention...it's funny how i begin working on a card and it transforms into something different.

I based this card on the sketch i used...the hint for the sketch was to use my scraps...and i thought, "Good idea" and that's how this card began with the largest scrap for the background and then other colors to make the strips.  I learned from another card maker that the layers look better matted and black seems to make the paper pop.  If you take a close look you can see there are a LOT of layers..so the card feels heavy. :)

 The image i used is from Saturated Canary and it is called Canary Love..it had a bird w/a heart and lines through the image that i "erased".

There's no place like home, Oz style

This cute little image won't be found on the internet under Dorothy or Oz, but is called "Kansas" and is at Mo's Digital Pencil.  Cute huh?

She's cute and coloring her, i knew would be a challenge in itself because of the checks on her dress...well, i tried, and wished i could've done better, but i like her!

I always wonder if one looking at my cards/card can figure out what i do..:)  I tried to make the stripe look like the rainbow and i embossed the blue to give it sky look and added the MS halloween fence to give it that "homey" look like in the movie.  I was lucky to find the blue gingham checked ribbon in my stash too. :)  I thought the yellow and red paper looked a bit vintage?  Well that was my thought...don't know if i pulled it off?

It's a Sunny Day!

I made this challenge with 2 challenges in mind and the one at The Original Magnolia Inspiration Challenge blog is ending sooner than i thought...so this will be a quick post. :)

The challenge is to add a bunny looking at the photo for inspiration to your card and use this sketch:

Based on those challenge requirements, i made this card.  My bunny is a stoneware bunny i had in my stash for over 15 yrs.

Snow Date Bonus card #5 -2 Ways

Decided to make a more simple base card.  This card inspiration comes from my friend, Sara.  She had this card in her "to do" list and it is "watermarked" Lisa J. Tompson.   It's a fun one!
Here is the inspiration card...Sweet and Simple:

Here are the supplies i used to make my card:
5 x5 card base
4.75 x 4.75- Brown mat
Dotted paper (or any lighter patterned paper) to go on top of the brown mat.
Center strip brown mat- 4.75 x 2.25
White mat (center strip) 1.5 x 4.75
Aqua strip on top of white
2 - 4.75" border strips (yellow)
Die cut or image like the inspiration
Happy Easter sentiment and mat
I will be adding a chick image to the side of my basket
Ribbon and embellishments for the basket

Attach the dotted paper to your brown mat and the yellow border strips to the brown strip mat.

Next add the blue paper to the white mat and attach it to the card base.

 Next add your diecut or matted image.  And your embellishments.  This card looks pretty good this way, but i will be adding an image to it as well.

 Once i added an image this is what it looks like:

Second version and supplies i used:
6.25 x 4.25 card base
Yellow mat-slightly smaller than base.
Center mat- pink paper 2.5 x(same size you cut the yellow base)
Pink pattern paper to put on top of pink mat above
Grass green circle/diecut 3.75" (i plan to double mat this because i don't like that much dark green showing)
white circle- 2.5
2- white paper lace border strips the width of your yellow card base mat.

Image/embellishments opt.

 Add pink pattern paper to pink mat.  Add white border strips to back of pink mat attach to card. Add white circle to center of green diecut/circle.

Put the green diecut circle on the center of your card.  Add bow.  Image to go in the center of your white circle.  Embellish as you like.

I changed out the inside circle and added another circle and then added an image, flowers and sentiment and came up with this:

This is the last one for today...Whew...lots of fun and work. :)  And of course i need to get my images colored to add to my cards.  So again this card was inspired by the Magnolia Ink's Easter issue page 41.

Here are my supplies that i used...and i must say that rounding these up took a bit longer:
5 x 5 card base
4.75 x 4.75 base mat- Robin's Egg blue
Blue pattern paper to fit on top of base mat cut down to show mat.
Corrugated Cardboard- (most any box would do...just pull off the top layer to get the ridges showing)
Border strips (2) 5" long
Doily 3.50", i used MS Elegant Cake cartridge
Ribbon(2)  6" strips (one organza)
Paper "ribbon" 6"
Happy Easter sentiment
Same paper that you used for your border strips for the sentiment mat
Flowers, Distress Ink

You will first need to mat your blue pattern paper onto you blue mat and attach it to your card base.

 Add the two 5" borders to the top and bottom of your cardboard.  I try to cut my cardboard so that the ridges run vertical.

Attach the cardboard to your card base using heavy duty tape.

 Now you will want to distress your sentiment and the paper lace.  Mat your sentiment with the same paper you used for your border punches.  Tear it across the top and distress it.  Add the two ribbons to the paper lace- taping the ribbon to the back of the paper lace.  Adhere the ribbon/lace to the cardboard with heavy duty tape.

Place the doily in the center using heavy duty tape.

Add your flowers and buds to the card
