We are a bi-weekly Challenge Blog and the theme will be Anything Goes
using stamps
(either rubber or clear, but no digi stamps).

What i have created is a candle holder. It measures 4" tall x 3.5" in diameter
The moon was stamped with VersaFine Clair - Morning Mist
The trees and fairy couple was stamped with Versa Fine Clair - Noturne
All of the stamps were embossed with clear embossing powder.

For this project, i used tissue paper. I measured the height and around the outside to figure out how much tissue paper i needed. I added 1" to the height so the excess can be folded over at the top and bottom.
I cut out a circle for a mask for the moon and placed that in the center of the tissue paper allow some space from the top. (the top 1/2" will be folded over into the glass candle holder at the end)
I made some clouds by using torn paper and distressed oxide ink.
I did the same thing for the mountains.
They are very, very subtle in this project. If you want them more pronounced, i would suggest using darker ink.
*Tip.. i am using distressed oxide ink for the clouds and mountains and oxide ink reacts to water based products.
Once i have added the clouds and mountains to the entire tissue paper (with the exception of the moon mask), i stamp the Lavinia stamps.
I did the moon first and then i used clear embossing powder right away.
A few things about stamping on tissue paper.
1. It bleeds through and you will want to have something beneath the tissue paper so it won't transfer on any other part of your project or your work surface. If you used a work surface mat, you will want to wipe it up so it doesn't transfer to another part of your project.
2. The tissue paper is so flimsy that it is hard to heat embossing because of the blowing. So i recommend putting a piece of paper behind it as you heat set/emboss the image.
3. Make sure you do not have any other part of the tissue paper behind the embossing you are doing because the embossing will bleed through as well.
One thing i have not been able to figure out is how to layer embossing stamping.
If i didn't emboss the moon then the tree branches/fairy hat tip would show up better. The fairy hat tip was drawn in after i embossed. The branches were too detailed to make it look good. I really like the look of the embossed moon as it almost looks translucent and that would make a fun look from the candle light. So based on that thought, you'd have to choose what is most important to you.
There might be other ways to accomplish a better look and i am interested to know other ideas.
Now you are ready to attach the tissue paper you created to the glass candle holder.
This is VERY fussy.
I use Mod Podge and put about 3" width on the glass candle holder to start.. i use a very thin coat. I put the center of the paper down first because i want that part to be put on correctly.
ONCE LAID DOWN YOU CAN NOT LIFT IT UP. It will tear.
Next i keep adding the mod podge and lay more of the paper down. Try to keep it as straight as possible. You have a little bit of excess, but you need enough to fold over into the holder at the top and to wrap a bit on the bottom. I don't let the back overlap too much as this will make it thicker and show up like a light shade does. It's your preference. I cut the paper back at the seam when it is wet being careful not to cut the paper underneath.
This look will not be smooth. It will have slight wrinkles. Let it dry before you seal the seam or fold the top and bottom over. To do this you will need a bottle to prop it up with so it doesn't touch the work surface.
Now that it is dry... you can add some mod podge inside the rim and tuck in the excess on top. Next can repeat that to the bottom folding it under.
Let that dry in the same manner by propping it on a bottle.
Once that is dry. You will be sealing the outside with Mod Podge.
*Tip about using ModPodge to the outside:
1. You will need a very soft bristle brush.
NOT those sponge brushes..it will rip up your tissue paper.
2. Mod Podge is waterbased and so is your Oxide ink. I didn't have a lot of bleeding, but i didn't use a lot of ink. However, the ink can "bleed" to your brush and can rub the colors to a different area, so just pay attention. Overall, it worked fine.
Completely cover the tissue paper, again the mod podge doesn't need to be a thick coat.
Let it dry on the bottle.
For some added fun, i added Alchemy Art Wax - Old Denim on the top rim and bottom.
I also pulled out some felt and cut out a circle for the base (i actually used a die circle to cut out my felt). I used my Xyron to attach the felt to the bottom of the base.

Your candle holder is so beautiful! I love the scene you created! It looks really pretty lit up! You do amazing things with the Lavinia stamps!
