Fairy Hugs - Garden Gnomes... It's Your Birthday

I am using Fairy Hugs - Garden Gnomes

For this card, I did a lot of stamping and Prismacolor pencil coloring. I knew the main focus of my card would be the Veggie Line, Garden Gnomes and the Balloons. I wanted to try the technique that Fairy Hugs DT Art Angel used on her cards. She shared how the Veggie Line could be manipulated because of the "line" being thin.

I decided to have the line bend in. To manipulate that on my stamping platform, i needed to figure out where the balloons and gnome would go. So i positioned all of the stamps using the clear acetate that has the image on it that comes with the stamps.

I chose to stamp the balloons first because they would be the "tallest" stamp. I used VersaFine Clair - Morning Mist for 2 reasons. First i wanted the image to be lighter so that i could color on it with the pencils and two i didn't want it to seem to be one piece with the gnome.. i wanted the strings to be a a different shade of color. Next i stamped the gnome with VersaFine Clair - Nocturne, so that his hand would be holding the balloons.

Now, we can position the Veggie Line so that his boots are touching it and so that it bends in a bit. So, how i manipulated it was to position the line under his boots, and then put the lid down and opened it back up to change out the poles to bend out. (*tip - Make sure the poles are far enough apart so that the sentiment and present will fit.) I put the lid back and forth to see if i liked where it was and moved the stamp to where i liked it. No worries about the gnome if his boots don't touch.. he is holding balloons and that will keep him up. lol.

I did stamp the Veggie Line with VersaFine Clair - Acorn.

Next i needed to pull out the sentiment acetate and the Fairy Flower Accessories acetate to see how the present and sentiment would fit. (hopefully you used the tip above, or you might have to use a different sentiment or add more presents). The presents were stamped in VersaFine Clair - Morning Mist and the sentiment in VersaFine Clair - Nocturne.

So now, i used Juniper's flowers around the base of the veggie poles and also, stamped those in VersaFine Clair - Morning Mist.

I wanted some more design to fill in the scene, so i pulled out the Veggie Toadstool and stamped those in VersaFine Clair - Morning Mist, again so i could color them in. I also added the bird from the Veggie Toadstool and stamped him with VersaFine Clair - Nocturne.

Last thing, is to add color with Prismacolor pencils.. you can color the black stamped images as well as the gray tone.. it just gives a different look and different colors show up on black (usually the light colors).

I also, added some glitter gold gel pen and used the white Prismacolor pencil to highlight the balloons.
